Nathan Evans is a Scottish singer from Airdrie, Scotland who scored an Official Singles Chart Top 10 hit in January 2021 with Wellerman. Nathan Evans rose to prominence after culvivating a sea shanty performance craze on the social media platform TikTok. He quit his job as a Royal Mail postman after signing a record deal with Polydor Records. His debut single Wellerman - an interpretation of Bristol folk band The Longest Johns' 2018 song - was remixed for its official single release by producers 220 Kid (real name William Graydon) and duo Billen Ted (aka Samuel Brennan and Tom Hollings). Wellerman reached Number 1 on the UK's Official Singles Chart on March 19, 2021 following a performance on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
