House Gospel Choir are a London-based vocal group whose truly euphoric live sets create a fusion of the biggest house, gospel and garage tunes.
Combining deep house gospel refixes and garage classics with their signature feel-good stage performance, it's no wonder the high-energy collective are frequently the choir of choice for some of music's biggest stars. House Gospel Choir have performed at the Mercury Music Prize with Loyle Carner, they've joined Emeli Sande for Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer, performed at BBC Gospel Christmas with Beverley Knight, Gregory Porter & Tom Jones. They've also appeared with Kylie Minogue at Hyde Park and her Infinite Disco Live Stream, plus teamed up with Jax Jones in the Radio 1 and 1Xtra Live Lounge.
Releasing their acclaimed 14-track LP in October 2020 via Island Records, House Gospel Choir's RE//CHOIRED was born out of a love for sound system culture, the healing power of house music and the group seeking to channel the magic of people working together to raise the vibrations. The album, which peaked at Number 4 on the Official Christian & Gospel Albums Chart, features some of the biggest producers in dance music, including house legends Todd Terry and DJ Spen, UKG favourite Wookie, prolific producer Toddla T, Grammy-winning producer Alex Metric and UK Gospel legend Nicky Brown.
House Gospel Choir have also collaborated with include collaborations with an eclectic mix of talent, securing their first Official Singles Chart courtesy of a feature on Ella Henderson's Risk It All. The choir have also recorded with Rudimental, Duane Harden, Purple Disco Machine, and their appearance on Adelphi Music Factory track Salvation saw them crowned by Annie Mac as BBC Radio 1's Hottest Record.
HGC’s magic is their ear for production, thanks to the songwriters, producers, vocal arrangers and selectors who make up the collective. The joy is unearthed through thoughtful digging in the crates, selecting house tracks that work alongside others – refixing, sound clashing and taking the classics, well, to church.
