Beabadoobee is the stage name of Filipino-English singer-songwriter Bea Kristi. Signed to Dirty Hit (the label behind The 1975 and Pale Waves), her first album, 2020's Fake It Flowers marked her as one of the essential Gen Z pop diarists, helped by the success of single Death Bed with Powu, which peaked at Number 4 on the Official Singles Chart in February 2020, which helped push Fake It Flowers to a peak of Number 8 on the Official Albums Chart that October.
Bea's follow-up record, the more electic and electronic Beatopia, became her highest-charting album to date in the UK in 2022, reaching Number 4, trailed by radio-friendly singles Talk and 10:36.
Her third album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, was released August 9 2024, a more mature slice of indie-pop, produced by Rick Rubin, and went straight in at Number 1, becoming becoming the first chart-topper of beabadoobee’s career. Speaking to Official Charts on her first UK Number 1 album, beabadoobee said: “I just got a Number 1! I am so over the moon. I want to thank the fans for buying and streaming this record and getting this album to Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart. I am so, so happy. I wouldn’t have done it without you guys and everyone who worked on this record. Thank you. I love you all so much!”
