Whigfield is an Italian dance project fronted by Sannie Charlotte Carlson (born April 11, 1970 in Skælskør, Denmark), who is a Danish singer, songwriter and record producer.

Whigfield first came to prominence when her debut song Saturday Night landed as UK Number 1 in 1994, deposing Wet Wet Wet’s Love Is All Around from the position, for a relieved nation and became a million-selling smash. Whigfield also broke a new Official Chart record in the process, becoming the first ever debut artist to enter the UK Official Singles Chart at Number 1.

She confessed to Official Charts in 2014 that she’d never attempted the dance that accompanied the song.
