SHED SEVEN

Shed Seven are an English alternative rock band, formed in York in 1990. Shed Seven are fronted by vocalist Rick Witter (born November 23, 1972 in Stockport) alongside guitarist Paul Banks (born July 6, 1973), bassist Tom Gladwin (born January 11), Tim Wills (keyboard/guitar) and drummer Rob Maxfield. Former members included Alan Leach and guitarist/ keyboardist Joe Johnson who both stepped down in 2021.

Between the years of 1994 and 1999 the band had 15 top 40 hits and four top 20 albums in the UK. Shed Seven initially split in 2003, and reformed in 2007 and since released their first album in 16 years, 2017’s Instant Pleasures.

In January 2024, 29 years and three months after their first appearance on the Official Albums Chart, Shed Seven scored their first Number 1 album with the aptly-titled A Matter Of Time. In doing so the band broke a new Official Chart record for the British rock group with the longest gap between debut and reaching Number 1.

In October 2024, just ten months after their first chart-topping album, Shed Seven scored a second Number 1 with Liquid Gold. In doing so they joined an elite group of artists in history to have achieved the rare feat of two UK Number 1 albums in a calendar year, including the likes of The Beatles, Elton John, Taylor Swift and more.
