BEYONCÉ

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter was always destined for stardom. Never mind the two Number 1 singles she scored with girl group Destiny's Child, Beyoncé's solo career has seen her become one of the most iconic performers of her generation. With six UK Number 1 singles and four Number 1 albums to her name, Beyoncé's music has charted her journey from pop solo stardom to a true musical auteur.

Starting with 2013's surprise self-titled album, Bey moved from just being a pop hitmaker, into someone that shaped the culture. 2016's Lemonade was not just a headline-grabbing revelation about infidelity, but an intelligent interrogation of the spaces Black women hold, taking in Beyoncé's pain and heartbreak and reflecting it through both a generational and racial lense.

At the dawn of the new decade also came an ambitious new three-part album project; lead by 2022's RENAISSANCE (a dance record heavily indebted to the gay clubs of the early 90s, with shades of handbag house and post-disco), a light in the darkness following lockdown.

2024 brought a reckoning, with Beyoncé's first country album, COWBOY CARTER, a reclamation of the country genre for Black artists who had been forgotten in the annals of its history. The LP was lead by TEXAS HOLD 'EM, which became Bey's sixth UK Number 1, and her first in 16 years.

When COWBOY CARTER debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, Beyoncé became the first black artist ever to reach Number 1 in the UK with a country album, the ultimate vindication of her artistry, and a reminder that in the latter part of her career, Beyoncé does everything for the culture at large.

Ummm who wrote this bio? Dangerously in love came out in 2003 and Destiny’s child originally had four members

Ela deveria ser creditada em Mi Gente, que teve o peak #8 com o Remix, e #5 a versão original.
E em Hymn For The Weekend também, palhaçada do Coldplay.

Discounted songs don't count toward the chart in UK.

There are 2 songs that should be on this list,
03 Bonnie & Clyde and Hymn For The Weekend.
Please fix this, thank you! :)

Hi! The 03 Bonnie & Clyde exclusion has been amended, and the page should be updated by our database shortly. Thanks for raising that.

As for Hymn for the Weekend, that is in fact an uncredited vocal, so does not count towards Bey's chart history. We're gutted about that too!
