HACKNEY DIAMONDS

Hackney Diamonds, released 20 October 2023, is something of a surprise release from The Rolling Stones. Recorded in relative secrecy, their first album of fully original material since 2005, the band re-grouped following the death of drummer Charlie Watts (who had contributed to some tracks prior to his death in 2021) and hooked up with in-demand hitmaker Andrew Watt (Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus) on a blockbuster record whose collaborations read like a who's who of music's past and present; Lady Gaga, Elton John, Paul McCartney Stevie Wonder all feature across the LP.
Angry, the lead single from Hackney Diamonds, released 6 September 2023, became The Rolling Stones' first Top 40 hit on the Official Singles Chart in 18 years, since Rain Fall Down in December 2005.
On 22 December 2023, Hackney Diamonds was crowned the Official Christmas Number 1 album in the UK.
