Better Man is Robbie Williams' 15th solo Number 1 album, landing at the top of the Official Albums Chart on 24 January 2025.

The original soundtrack to Robbie's acclaimed Michael Gracey-directed biopic, Better Man outsold the rest of the Top 5 combined to reach Number 1 and made history in doing so. The only artists in history at that point to achieve 15 Number 1 albums were The Beatles and now Robbie Williams too.

The Better Man soundtrack spans reinventions of Williams’ three decades in music, with sweeping, cinematic versions of his hits to appeal to fans old and new.

Robbie was keen to make sure Better Man also appeals to people who don’t like musicals, “I don’t think the songs get in the way of the film at all—they’re perfectly placed where they are and how they are. I hope that these songs get a chance to shine again, to be discovered for the first time or rediscovered if you’ve wandered away. And I just hoped that they would be as good, if not better than the original.”

The soundtrack closes with new song “Forbidden Road”, which Williams hopes will give comfort to people who’ve been through the emotional journey of watching Better Man. “The film is so triggering and traumatic and works on such a profound level—at the end of it, you need a hug,” he says. “So the best thing that I could do was come up with my own version of a musical hug, and that’s what ‘Forbidden Road’ is.”

On Better Man reaching Number 1, Robbie said, “Thank you to everyone who has supported the album and the movie. What a huge honour it is to get my 15th UK Number 1 album. A special thank you to all my fans, whose support I never take for granted. I'm so proud of the film Better Man, so to have the soundtrack album reach Number 1 makes it even more special.”
