I/O - BRIGHT-SIDE MIX

I/O is Peter Gabriel's tenth studio album and the singer's first album of new material in over 21 years.
Released 1 December 2023 on the Real World label, the 12-track album features two versions - the "Bright Side" mix, and "Dark Side" mix.
The name I/O stands for "input/output", it's also Gabriel's longest studio album to date, with both mixes each clocking in at over 68 minutes and the total project lasting over two hours.
From January 2023, Gabriel set about releasing singles from the album on each full moon, and the alternate mix (either 'Bright-Side' or 'Dark-Side') along with the In-Side mix every new moon.
In I/O's opening week, Peter Gabriel found himself in a three-way race with K-pop newcomers ATEEZ and festive crooner Michael Buble. While ATEEZ led the race on the midweek Official Albums Chart Update, Peter Gabriel overtook with 24 hours to go, with just 1,000 units separating all three acts in the closing hours of the race. On 8 December 2023 Gabriel clinched the UK Number 1 album and his highest-charting since 1992 release Us.
