THE UNIVERSAL WANT

Doves made a glorious return to the Official Chart in September 2020 with their Number 1 comeback album The Universal Want.
Released 11 September 2020 via Heavenly Recordings and Virgin EMI, the Manchester rock band’s fifth studio album, and first in 11 years, outperformed its closest competitor by more than double to take the top spot on the Official Albums Chart.
The Universal Want became Doves' third UK Number 1 album, their previous chart-toppers include The Last Broadcast (2002) and Some Cities (2005).
Celebrating the news, Doves told Official Charts: “What can we say? We’re floored by the amazing reception to the new album. Huge thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years and for making the wait for this one so worthwhile.”
