THIS IS HOW TOMORROW MOVES
by BEABADOOBEE
Beabadoobee’s critically-acclaimed third studio album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, was released 9 August 2024 via Dirty Hit Records and gave the singer her first UK Number 1 album.
Debuting at the top spot on the Official Albums Chart on 16 August, This Is How Tomorrow Moves followed Beabadoobee's earlier Top 10 albums Fake It Flowers which peaked at Number 8 in 2020, and 2022’s Beatopia (4).
Featuring the singles Ever Seen, Take A Bite, Coming Home and Beaches, This Is How Tomorrow Moves showcases Beabadoobee’s artistic evolution. It captures a journey through confidence and introspection, with themes of self-acceptance and personal growth woven throughout, in parts a love letter to her younger self and all that she’s been through.
“I love this album,” Beabadoobee said, “I feel like it’s helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I’m at. I guess it’s about becoming a woman.”
Adding “I think I’m more aware of my actions in these songs,” Bea adds, “In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people's doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it's accepting that there's an inevitability of my fault in there too. Whether it's childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything.”
Celebrating her first Number 1 album, Beabadoobee told Official Charts:
“I just got a Number 1! I am so over the moon. I want to thank the fans for buying and streaming this record and getting this album to Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart. I am so, so happy. I wouldn’t have done it without you guys and everyone who worked on this record. Thank you. I love you all so much!”
