Unpopular opinion: I prefer it when songs have longer stays at number one. When it changes every week it is almost showing their is no actual hit at the time. I class 'Rein Me In' as one of the first hits of the year.

The Bruno Mars album is a little to hated imo, it's not bad

everyone go stream and buy the new help(2) album from war child records. some fantastic bands on there (the 6music heads like me especially love the lineup), the songs are amazing and every penny made from the project goes directly to children suffering in global conflict.

For those who watched the BRITs last weekend, what did you think of them?

Olivia Dean sweeping was expected, but deserved. Between Geese winning Best International Group and all the hype they get on here, I certainly need to check out some of their recent releases.

As for performances, Rosalía had the best one of the night for me. Honourable mentions go to the RAYE and Mark Ronson medleys, especially the latter for his tribute to the iconic Amy Winehouse.

Stateside falling one position. this is bad. It should RISE!!!

‘Into The Groove’ returns to the Top 40 for the first time since its original chart run in 1985 thanks to TikTok virality.

It’s fantastic to see an all-time pop classic make a resurgence like this, especially when it’s one of my favourite Madonna hits.

It’s unlikely to happen, but it would be amazing to see ‘Stateside’ go to #1. I’m happy that PinkPantheress was able to get another Top 3 single with it regardless.

Forgot to say this last week, but Alysia Liu’s performance to it at the Winter Olympics was phenomenal! She absolutely deserved that gold medal.

As someone who has mixed opinions on Alex Warren, ‘Fever Dream’ is very good and one of his best singles to date. I think this style of song suits his voice well.

It may not have held onto its midweek position, but it would’ve been a much better #1 hit than ‘Ordinary’ for sure.

It looks like Bella Kay could be the next breakout popstar. Definitely wouldn’t complain if ‘I Love It (x3)’ eventually makes it to the summit.

I found out earlier this week that she’s only 19 years old. With the right management, I think she has a lot of potential to do well in the mainstream.
