Upside Down returns to the chart, it was the first of six top ten hits Diana Ross had in the 80s followed by My Old Piano (#5), Endless Love (#7), Why Do Fools Fall In Love (#4), Work That Body (#7) and Chain Reaction (her 3rd and last UK #1). She would go on to have three more top ten hits in the 90s and a #2 with Westlife in 2005.

Love to see RAYE at number 1, as well as new peaks for Dave, HAVEN. and Sonny Fodera. Nice to see MK/Clementine Douglas re-entering I’m still hoping it can become a hit, it’s so much better than ‘Dior’!

Is "Lush Life" being backed by this whole "make 2026, 2016" social media trend? Because that trend will just make the chart even more stagnant.

Also get Zara's newest album a bit hit..

J

0

No, it’s because there’s a viral TikTok dance that Zara performs when singing ‘Lush Life’ on tour.

I see that next mid week chart update bye bye Christmas songs.

I do not like that the two hosts played wham on the radio after saying that they weren't going to play any Christmas songs.

Also the radio countdown over ran time which meant we saw what was no.1 on here about the time of songs 4 and 5 playing on air. Which shouldn't happen.

I am glad that Taylor is not no.1. Especially with how far ahead raye is on Spotify. She had always been ahead of Taylor on Spotify but not others but had finally done it.

Lush life part takes me back to college days. But it feels odd because it is a summer song.

Old old songs only came back in because of the acr and acr resets to get rid of the Christmas songs. So some old songs are of place. But unfortunately had more than an 25% boost in streams which took them off acr from what I googled.

So when acr is fully reseted could we see some of these mid-late 2024 songs disappear or are they're streaming figures too high?

I am disappointed of should I stay or should I go which is re-entry not new blocked off from airplay by 4 Christmas songs 😢.

So the four songs robbed from being in the top 40 are Dracula, should I stay or should I go, love me not and the life of a showgirl.

Curious, what pop star or band would you like to see on the charts? Whether it’s someone who charted a lot in the past or someone who charted once or not at all. I’d like to see Erika de Casier chart I love the album she released last year, or Cece Natalie I discovered her recently her new albums pretty good

2

I was disappointed that Renee Rapp's latest album made next to no impact (singles wise), yes it is generic, somewhat predictable pop music, but nonetheless they are bangers.

I also would have loved 'Follow Excitement' by Rizzle Kicks & Rachel Chinouriri to chart it is so modern yet so nostalgic.

I don’t watch Stranger Things but I find it interesting that we have songs back in the chart for the first time in decades because of it, even if I’m kind of mixed on them.

Pleasantly surprised that ‘People Watching’ re-entered the Top 40. This is now the third consecutive year that it’s been there.

Never would’ve expected ‘Lush Life’ to be in the Top 10 for the first chart of 2026. Not that I’m complaining about it. It’s a fantastic song that brings back some fun memories.
