It doesn't seem right that two songs sales can appear as one, but then look how the OCC have completely erased the original highest chart positions of many singles from their records, Happy Xmas (War is Over) a case in point. An insult to the artists and misleading to the general public. I speak as someone who once went to see Ball, Barber and Bilk about 25 yrs ago and walked to the front of the stage to confront, (politely),Kenny Ball,  who had arrogantly told the audience that 'Midnight in Moscow' reached No1 in the US. As you may know it reached No2 in the Hot 100 and No1 in the Adult Contemporary chart, two very different beasts I'm sure you'll agree, he listened to what I said and proceeded to the next number before addressing the audience with "Some of you may have heard what the young man said, well, there were many different charts around back then and obviously I'm going to refer to the ones I was number one in" When Acker Bilk played Stranger...... he modestly made no mention of it's chart success in the US other than to say he once heard it played on the radio in a middle eastern country he was visiting. The arrogance of Ball prompted me to defend the accuracy of the charts, something regrettably the OCC are failing to do by not publishing the original chart positions. 

Probably my favourite chart of the year to date.

I like the debuts for 'Abracadabra', 'It Girl' and 'Tell Me'. Good chart!

This isn't the 2000s or 2010s though. Dance music hardly ever charts in the US unless you're making generic radio filler or you're David Guetta butchering a classic. 

'Abracadabra' is neither of those. It's also definitely not a flop if it's narrowly missing the Top 10, and very likely would've got there if not for the Super Bowl halftime show by the biggest rapper in the world right now. If anything, I'm actually stunned that it's doing as well as it is. 

Literally, name one female artist who had a mainstream breakthrough in the late 2000s and isn't Taylor Swift that's doing better than Gaga.
