FLOWERS
by MILEY CYRUS

During her shapeshifting career, Miley Cyrus has worn many hats, recording everything from risqué R&B to punchy pop-rock, but she brought it back to basics for Flowers.

A subtle and surprising stripped-back, disco-influenced mid-tempo banger about learning to love herself again after her divorce, Flowers was Miley Cyrus's third UK Number 1 single, and first chart-topper since We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball back in 2013.

Released right at the start of 2023, Flowers was both a conversation starter and ender for Miley; it debuted at Number 1, with the most first-week sales for a single since Harry Styles' As It Was in 2022. Miley's first Number 1 in a decade then bloomed at the top of the Official Singles Chart for a staggering ten weeks, helping Miley also claim 2023's first Official Chart double when its parent album, Endless Summer Vacation, entered at the top of the Albums Chart.

Hopefully she bought herself a big old bouquet to celebrate.

I thought this was gonna still be way higher on the charts considering it's, like, still pretty much the only song anyone I meet who's younger than me listens to even after a year. XD
