Fantastic news to see vinyl making such a comeback. Long may it continue. I just wish the 7 inch vinyl single would make such a comeback. Justin Bieber has 15 singles in the top 100. Surely some kind of rules or control needs to be altered to the chart. I've noticed since downloading has almost completely took over physical sales of singles, lots of the older artists don't even have hit singles anymore. For example cd singles and 7 inch singles are almost as extinct as the dinosaurs. But this isn't fair to me, and the top 100 singles charts are so bland its ridiculous. I just hope downloading doesn't have the same affect on the album charts, or we wouldn't see any artists over the age of 25 have hit albums anymore either. It simply wouldn't be worth them being musicians. Something needs to spark a comeback of the physical single, just like vinyl is making a comeback now. Bring back the 7inch vinyl single at a reasonable price I say. Then you'd see artists like Rod Stewart, Status Quo, Pet Shop Boys, even Madonna, back in the top 40, and bring back the diversity we once had.
