As much as I would’ve preferred vampire to be my birthday #1, I guess I’ll take Sprinter since it’s actually alright (unlike 3 certain other ones, I’m talking about you Bad Habits, Savage Love and 3 Lions) and it’s growing on me 👀 Really really good to see Peggy up to #5 (even if it sadly was due to 4 big dance songs getting struck by ACR :/) and 0800 HEAVEN up to #9 but also happy to see fukumean and Popular edging closer to the top 10, hopefully one of those can or even both can make the top 10 next week! Both are shaping up to be pretty big hits on my personal chart but I haven’t made one in around 5 weeks now just top 10s 😅 Hoping Disconnect gets a reasonable debut next week, I still prefer Side Effects but honestly I love both (I’m so predictable).

Have a good weekend everyone!

It's ugly to look at, difficult to navigate & a LOT slower... please change it back...

Oh and sooooooo many pop-ups & adverts all over the place - so with your new 'trendy' colour scheme it's even more distracting!!!

Chart Review 14/07/2023

And with the sound of a gong that never stops ringing, I'm here. Even though I probably shouldn't be. Never stopped me though. This is the part of the paragraph where I warn you about the lack of chart movement. Only kidding! This week is full of 'stories'. And many of them are about Taylor Swift. Because when aren't they.

Starting with the eye-gouingly obvious, however, and it seems that Dave is everywhere at the moment. Hiring him to appear in the announcemet trailer for that new EA Sports football game seemed a bit superfluous though. Surely this isn't 'too much exposure'? Eh, I don't care. Shame that Sprinter hasn't improved for though. Six weeks of chart and yet I can barely name any of the rhyming couplets. Am I just old?

O-Rod is still at 2, and from consistently hearing this on the radio, I can officially comment on the fact that this song, ROCKS. It's great. Don't convince me otherwise. Also on the 'how is this THAT good for me' scale is Taylor Swift's Cruel Summer, which is now the third most brill song in the land. All because, erm, she went on tour. Who would've figured. On a more inconsistent note, Jack Saunders deciding to get random members of the public to yell out the verses instead of Swifty seemed, at best, odd. I'm one for left-field choices but this is ridiculous.

Oh, and Speak Now (TV) was released last Friday. Didn't notice? Then you clearly aren't a human being. The No.

I kind of miss Disqus tbh. :/

I know there’s probably still some site development going on, but three charts in and we still can’t sort by anything other than oldest comments, no notifications for replies, not able to upload images, no block or delete features, being logged off every time you leave the page, etc. and that’s not even getting into the mobile issues!

I feel like it would’ve been better if OCC changed the layout and archives like they did but just stuck to the old commenting system.
