Shame this website continues to have issues. Aside from it freezing when you scroll, now it jumps to 2022 from 1982. I hope you guys sought it soon. I am on a mass project, looking at ten years of top 75 hits. It's been a great journey discovering many songs that I had forgotten. Bravo so far for your effort.

Why, when you try to access past charts, does it continually default to this weeks chart. Frustrating on what COULD be a really useful tool and site!

2

To reiterate, it's funny that innit ? (NOT) How they manage to keep the critical posts deleted but can't provide the service that they're paid to provide. The website is rapidly becoming as absurd as the content too - but then, if they can't get keep it operational, how can we expect them to compile and publish anything meaningful? Like Camelot and the National Lottery, it's time to give the job to a company that actually cares about what they're doing.

avatar

Neil James Rawlings

2

They really need to get this sorted, it's not just any old chart site, as it says at the top it's The OFFICIAL Chart site, and a lot of people, myself included use this site as a reference point for everything "charty" from 1952 to today, and when it can't even find 'The Pretenders'????. Even if it means shutting the site down for a couple of days and fixing the issues, that would be better than it being all the time.

Yet again,no album chart! Some folks like to scan through it and maybe find an album they didn't realise was out! And buy it! This is really letting the artists down! Pull your finger out guys!!

Huge congratulations to Queen in becoming the first British act to break the 1,000 weeks barrier. Also, QGH is only around 10,000 units short of becoming the first album ever in the UK charts to sell over 7 million copies which is around 900,000 units more than its nearest rival 'Gold'

PK

Philip King

1

Fully deserved, a legendary classy act.

avatar

Mark Wislen

-1

The Queen Album has 626,000 Sales added in from a 1994 Double Album, (66,000), and their 2000 Triple Album - 'The Platinum Collection'. (560,000). So, the 'stand-a-lone' UK Sales of the 1981 Album, are really 626,000 lower than is claimed. It is certainly not 900,000 Sales in front of 'ABBA Gold'. Queen's 1991 'Hits II' Album also had 626,000 'enhanced' Sales added to it, from those same 2 Compilations. 'Greatest Hits III', (1999), 'only' had 560,000 Sales from 'The Platinum Collection' added to it.

ZG

Zack Garcia

1

You have clearly been misinformed then because these are OFFICIAL figures. It is CERTAINLY approximately 900,000 sales ahead of 'Gold'. The tone of your reply suggests an element of resentment towards this legendary act which is churlish as it is infantile. Anyway, as I find these neverending back and forth discussions incredibly tedious I bid you goodnight and sweet dreams 😘

These charts don’t represent what people are listening to, they need to change!
No Lady Gaga for weeks 😳
Kate Bush should be no1

avatar

Lancashire Anglo-Saxon

1

Why is there no Welsh chart - there's a Scottish one and it'd be dead easy to compile just using all the sales from Wales And from going to north wales with the school back in the 1980s I know there's a thriving welsh language market. If I was Welsh I'd be a bit p***d off that they didn't also have their own chart.

avatar

⁉️

2

The Scottish chart hasn’t been a thing for a while, and it was only based on physical sales anyway.

Streaming and digital downloads report all data under the UK, so it’s not even possible for the OCC to do a proper chart of either country.

avatar

Lancashire Anglo-Saxon

0

Oh I see thanks for the reply - I often wondered why the Scottish chart seemed more geared to rock type music - but many of the people who buy physical copies still are also part of that now quite old fashioned rock/indie scene.
Some of the sales at the bottom of the Scottish chart must have been tiny then.
I'm always hearing of arguably the only truly regional hit ever although I don't know how much is true. It's about the original Adge Cutler and the Wurzels who released a record in 1967 called "Drink Up Thee Zider" which spent one solitary week in the Top 50 but remained on catalogue for years and supposedly eventually got sales of 250,000 (it could have even been a few more) and literally 99% of those sales were in the West Country where it became sort of a national anthem and was on eery jukebox and nearly every native west country record buyer had a copy. I'd love to the know the real truth of that story. Some of the football fans down there still sing it at matches.
