Justice for Space Brothers (31) and Friends Of Matthew (61)! I"m sure the broadcast chart had Savage Garden at 16 too. Melanie G's dreadful cover of Word Up does benefit though.

I do recall that James Masterton once said that this chart turned out to have been compiled without sales data from the Virgin and Our Price record chains due to a system error. There were, as I recall, howls of outrage from some labels prompting the missing data to be folded into the database but without the chart itself being corrected in the record books. Except that this version is produced using the main database, and it might need to correctly adjusted, according to the Music Week issue that week.

Indeed. I remember Tina Cousins and Dwight Yoakham missed out on top 40 placings when announced at the time. This is confirmed in the old Guinness print editions.

But I'm surprised they never corrected the chart position for the Blur single, because the band's management requested a recount when a certain percent of "Coffee & TV"'s sales went missing due to "computer error", I'm certain that could have been top 10.

Hey guys your data here is all wrong. Check the NME listing for this week; there's errors in the lower parts of the 40 and the Top 10.

NME stopped being the Official Chart source in 1960. Whatever the 1999 publications says, it's irrelevent to this chart.

I do not recognise this chart. #Justice4Lolly
