Martin The Smoggie UTB!
This was the chart the week I was born.
Could there be a worse number one?
These people who bought these records obviously had no taste whatsoever.

Probably your parents Martin?

You were born in the same week that Elton John made his debut, so not all bad.

Marko
Elton had been recording prior to this on the Top of the pops LPs by Pickwick on the Hallmark label, as a session musician around 1968-69, some vocals and it is rumoured that he also played Piano though there are no known credits for the latter. But in his own right this was his first release.

I would have bought it for my grandad if I had money at the time. My Grandad has been a massive influence in my life. I admit it wasn't exactly a smash hit, But sentimental.

I know what you mean about Grandads, mine taught me more about life than my parents did. It was only in later years, when he was no longer here, that I realized this. I sure do miss him.
