I wish Nial Horan make the top 40 at least, Louis Tomlinson's We Made It is a great song too, it deserves to chart. What happens with Liam Payne last low performances?

Aren't you the same guy who claimed that the American government was giving money (to the OCC supposedly, in this case) so that they could put American "hip-hop" music into the official charts (as if the songs on here were handpicked), all in order to supposedly "kill" British music?
How do you expect anyone to take you seriously?

It's a shame that such a great song didn't impact in the charts

To the shock of no-one Dance Monkey remains atop of the charts for a 4th week, I can see that song staying at the top for many more weeks to be honest! (The songs is a light 6/10 for me). There are, however, a few songs climbing the chart that could take it's spot- Circles by Post Malone, reaching a new peak at #3 this week, Posty's 4th Top 3 hit after Rockstar, Sunflower & Wow, Ed Sheeran's South Of The Border, now his 18th top 5 hit (including 1 feature) & Lewis Capaldi's Bruises.
Buss Down become's Aitch's 3rd top 10 hit (inc. 1 feature), and Maroon 5's Memories their 11th. Unfortunately I hate both those song's though, so yeah. Songs looking for a Top 10 soon include Riton's Turn Me On, this week's highest climber Meduza's Lose Control & Lizzo's Good As , now with a remix with Ariana Grande.
On the new entry front we have a few sleeper hits entering the Top 40 with Blackbear's Hot Girl Bummer and I'm sorry but I cannot stand this, I find the lyrics incredibly misogynistic and am ashamed that the UK made this chart higher than the original Hot Girl Summer. The other new entries are average, although props to Jax Jones for getting traction out of the ELEVENTH single of his album.
On a better note the new albums by Rex Orange County & Kanye West are both 10s for me, and Deno's a 7.
This week's chart dropouts.
Lil Tecca- Ran$om 40-43
Sam Smith- How Do You Sleep? 39-44
Headie One- Both 13-47 (ACR)
Predictions for next week (last week I got half the Top 10 right, and 2 of the new entries!)
1 Dance Monkey (0)
2 Ride It (0)
3 Circles (0)
4 South Of The Border (0)
5 Bruises (+1)
6 Memories (+4)
7 Lose You To Love Me (NEW)
8 Highest In The Room (-4)
9 Selah (NEW)
10 Good As (+8)
New Entries
Follow God (10-15)
Closed On Sunday/On God/Everything We Kneed (10-15)
Walking On (12-20)
Badder Than Bad (15-20)
Heathrow/Lauren (15-20)
Look At Her Now (20-40)
10/10 (20-40)
Nice Too Met Ya (25-35)
Frail State Of Mind (30-40)
Bandit (35-40)
Yeah it could be a busy week folks!
Thank you for reading!

'This Is Real' is the 11th single from 'Snacks'?! It's indeed amazing that he's still charting songs from it, even if he did re-release the album!

Then again, DJs/producers do tend to release almost all of their album tracks as official singles eventually! Just look at Calvin Harris with '18 Months' for example, haha.

Well, he released 9 off the original album and then 2 more off an extended edition. The first single released was "House Work" back in 2016!

My thoughts & observations on the UK charts as always…

‘Dance Monkey’ by Tones & I dominates the Official Singles Chart for a fourth consecutive week!

With ‘South Of The Border’ by Ed Sheeran ft Camila Cabello & Cardi B rising from 8-4, Cardi B now achieves her highest UK singles chart position to date, passing ‘Finesse’ with Bruno Mars (#5, January 2018). Meanwhile, ‘Memories’ climbing 19-10 gives Maroon 5 their 11th Top 10 hit!

‘Higher Love’ by Kygo & Whitney Houston spends a seventh non-consecutive week on the airplay chart! As far as I’m aware, it ties for the longest radio #1 for 2019 so far. It’ll face competition from ‘South Of The Border’ next week, which skyrockets 21-2 in the new chart!

Meanwhile, ‘Dance Monkey’ is also spending a second consecutive week at #1 on the national YouTube chart! It increases 37.6% in views from last week, up to 3.36 million!

BLACKBEAR - HOT GIRL BUMMER (#30)
You know it was an uneventful week for the charts when the highest new arrival into the Top 40 was barely ten songs in to the countdown! What made me even more ambivalent about this was the widespread critical backlash it got, considering I mostly tend to agree with them on rap hits that become big… thankfully, not this one! This song gives me a mix of amusement of how easily Blackbear just brushes off the situation he’s in; social awkwardness knowing that there’s no friendship between him & who he’s surrounded by, but he’s not going to change so he’s done being in that environment (even if I’m not the biggest fan of the “pulling up with an emo chick that’s broke” line!). That said, I’m also impressed by the flow he’s taking on in the verses, where most of his peers might struggle to keep up. That being said, the best part of this for me is actually the production, where the rollicking guitar melody blends in incredibly well alongside the standard trap knock & beneath all that, there’s a twinkling tone that slowly but effectively creeps out behind the mix. So yeah, I might not be the biggest fan of Blackbear in general, but if he keeps making music like this, he might actually win me over! Overall, light 8/10.

JAX JONES & ELLA HENDERSON - THIS IS REAL (#32)
To give you an idea of how far behind I am with new music at the moment, I only heard this song for the first time today, which is very late for me considering I’ve had so many people on here ask me my thoughts on this already! Anyway, you’re about to hear them & woah… I’m actually kind of stunned as to how impressed I was on first listen! Firstly, credit where it’s due to Jax Jones, who integrates those familiar yet pounding piano notes impeccably into the general disco vibe of the song, but what’s even more impressive is that he was even able to introduce some subtle drum’n’bass elements which are cleverly scattered across the track! Although, while this is one of the best performances I’ve seen from him to date, it’s Ella Henderson that truly wins me over here! I’ve always loved how she alternates behind between clear & raw in her vocal delivery, but you can tell straight away how much more mature & confident she sounds here! The lyrics give me a flashback to what these kind of dance songs tried to do in 2014, which almost makes it too good for 2019 standards! It’s incredibly rare that I think a song could debut at #1 on my personal charts based on one listen alone, but ‘This Is Real’, it might just get there! You know what? I absolutely adore this, it’s a 10/10!

THE SCRIPT - THE LAST TIME (#40)
The Script’s career has been a very interesting one to look back on! It was only a few years ago that they were easily topping the charts, but now that they’re about to reach their sixth studio album, they’ll chart only on mostly sales alone! That’s a shame really, because this deserves to do a lot better than it has so far. The first thing that stands out here is how frontman Danny O’Donoghue is still bringing those classic rumbly & abundant that allows his voice to remain very distinctive on the radio! He captures those overwhelming feelings when you realise you could be seeing a loved one for “the last time”. I also like the power behind Glen Power’s drumming, although I do wish I could’ve heard Mark Sheehan’s vocals come through more, especially since he’s giving it his all on the guitar. That said, while there’s nothing really euphoric to this that puts it among The Script’s best work, it still has me intrigued for whatever’s coming next! As such, strong 7/10!

On the albums chart, after a very close race for the top spot, Foals secure their first #1 with their sixth studio album, ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2’! It was also the best-selling vinyl album of the week, with phonographic records contributing to a third of its overall units.

The rest of the Top 5 is: ‘You’ by James Arthur (debuts at #2), ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ by Ed Sheeran (2-3), ‘Walk The Sky’ by Alter Bridge (debuts at #4) & ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’ by Lewis Capaldi (3-5).

Looking ahead to next week, these songs could enter the Top 40 for the first time: ‘Lose You To Love Me’ by Selena Gomez, ‘My Blood’ by Westlife, ‘Orphans’ by Coldplay, ‘G Love’ by Krept & Konan ft WizKid, ‘Trust Issues’ by NSG, 'Bandit' by Juice WRLD & YoungBoy Never Broke Again, 'Follow God', 'Selah' & 'Closed On Sundays' by Kanye West, 'Nice To Meet Ya' by Niall Horan & maybe even more.

Thanks for reading everyone! I hope you all have a good weekend. :)

Not a problem! I don't think it's going to #1 sadly, but Top 10 seems very likely at the moment. My prediction is #5 for now, give or take a couple of places.

Thanks Rob! :)

To be honest, I had a feeling I was going to like ‘This Is Real’ since so many others on this thread did!

What I wasn’t expecting was there to be literally nothing I can criticise about the song, which doesn’t happen often as you know from my weekly reviews, haha.

Id love if she got a top 5 debut cause she’s never been able to get past number 7 and now she’s killing it all over the place and a top 5 debut seems very likely.. I’d love the song to go number 1 at some point but I don’t see it happening this week

Hey Piran! I've not been able to comment here for the past few weeks, but there certainly have been some great developments on the charts while I've been gone! Firstly, seeing 'Dance Monkey' spend all of that time at #1, with some very impressive chart sales figures, is cool, though it's 'South of the Border's run that I've liked the most. In the last chart I commented on it was a #40 debut, so I never would've expected it to match, let alone beat, the #7 placing that it would've gotten had it been able to chart when 'No.6 Collaborations Project' released, especially not in such a short amount of time! 'Circles' consistently climbing to such a high peak was also surprising, though really great to see, as is Camila's other chart hit of the moment, 'Liar', coming so close to the Top 20 now! It's also fantastic to see both 'Be Honest' and 'Post Malone' reaching the Top 10, and 'Professor X' did come very close, though I think its chance is gone now.
As for the debuts over the past few weeks, my thoughts have been generally positive, though there's not been anything particularly amazing. 'HIGHEST IN THE ROOM' was pretty boring for me, unfortunately, despite the fact that Travis has the most weeks at #1 with 11 and tied most #1s this year so far with 5 on my charts, it seems like there's a reason why he's never charted as a primary lead artist. Strong 5/10 here. '10,000 Hours' is pretty nice, though nothing special for me, so solid - strong 6/10, and the same for 'Playing Games' for me. 'Graveyard' was a bit of a slow burner for me, but now I think I'd give it a light - solid 7/10. 'Lights Up' is another song that's just a bit better than decent for me, a strong 6/10 - light 7/10. I couldn't understand half of what was being said in '47', and the vocals can be a bit annoying, but the beat slaps so that's another strong 6/10 - light 7/10. 'Memories' is my least favourite debut from the past few weeks, and even that's still a strong 5/10, and 'Lose Control' is my favourite with a light 8/10. 'The Last Time' is a bit boring for me, but it's not bad, so a light 6/10 here, while 'This Is Real' is slightly below average for a Jax Jones track in my opinion, so a light - solid 7/10 here. 'hot girl bummer' is probably the most interesting debut for me. It made my charts for a single week at #37 back when it released in August, and I quickly forgot about it soon after. Yet, somehow this track becomes blackbear's first major global hit! It's pretty good, but it's not my favourite blackbear track, so solid 7/10 here.
I'm pretty sure 'Dance Monkey' will still easily be #1 next week, but there should be some pretty interesting debuts! 'Lose You To Love Me' should easily be able to make the Top 5, unless it drops drastically throughout the rest of the week, and 'Follow God' might be able to make it there as well if it can stay stable on Spotify! 'Selah' and 'Closed On Sunday' should both be able to debut fairly high, and hopefully 'Look At Her Now' and 'Floss' are able to debut like predicted in the First Look! I don't think 'Good As ' will climb nearly as high as predicted, but Top 10 is definitely possible, and 'hot girl bummer' could potentially climb into the Top 20, which would be quite nice to see!

She'll certainly pass #7 & into the Top 5 in the next chart, especially according to what Monday's chart update had to say! ;)

'Dance Monkey' is way too dominant for anyone to surpass it right now, unless Adele makes her comeback within the next week or two.

Piran

1

Hey Gameskiller! :)

It looks we're both extremely busy in our personal lives at the moment, but it's good to see you back here for the time being.

I guess the more impressive thing about 'Dance Monkey' for me is how dominant it is! This coming week will be it's fifth week at #1, but it had a roughly 2:1 lead over the #2 in both streaming & sales. It's also gone to #1 on YouTube with massive gains in views since you last commented here, although it's never been able to catch on to much radio airplay sadly, especially not from Radio 1. Elsewhere, it's recently become both the #1 song in Europe & last week it dethroned 'Senorita' as the #1 song in the world!

I guess we mostly agree on the debuts, although I like both 'Memories' & 'This Is Real' significantly more than you, while our ratings for 'Playing Games' differ a fair bit too.

Regarding Blackbear, the only other song I heard from him was 'Do Re Mi', which was only really big in the US last year & I really didn't like it, especially that horrible falsetto! I'm glad his second song to chart there is the one that became bigger globally.

I'm very excited to hear what you have to say about the two Selena debuts, since I really don't care for that new Kanye gospel album at all!

While I could see most of your predictions coming true, I feel like 'Good As ' will get fairly close to where it was predicted, since the remix has remained a lot more stable throughout the tracking week than I personally would've expected.

'Follow God' is looking like it could dominate soon on recent Spotify updates, so I'm saying that'll be the top debut of the week, with at least a Top 5 placing. 'Look At Her Now' will undoubtedly be the biggest climber, possibly heading for #2 & #3 in the final chart!

Yeah, 'Dance Monkey' has been doing really well in the UK and all throughout Europe, which is really great to see! Sadly it dropped in sales this week for the first time, going from 84,580 to 81,198, and since it's over 10 weeks old this means the ACR clock is now ticking. For me this song has been a real slow burner - it's not made my charts yet, but I think it has a pretty good chance of doing so within the next few weeks (though maybe not this upcoming week as that chart is currently set to be very busy), and could very well start climbing after its debut!
As for blackbear, he's a bit of a hit or miss artist for me, but he does have some songs that I really like. 'do re mi' is actually one of my favourite of his tracks, specifically the version with Gucci Mane, and it's easily his highest placement on my charts, peaking at #9! However, I would say that my favourite of his songs is easily 'Idfc'. It only reached #32, but it's been able to grow on me a lot since I first heard it, while 'do re mi' has fallen back a bit. 'hot girl bummer' is probably around my 5th favourite of his songs, but it could grow on me!
Regarding the Selena debuts, all I'll say for now is that both are very likely to chart for me this week, and both absolutely have the potential to climb higher than their debut positions! I also wasn't a massive fan of 'JESUS IS KING', though. My favourite song from it would be 'Use This Gospel', but that's a light 7/10 at best, and I didn't care for any of the other tracks at all.
Yeah, 'Good As ' has done better than I expected over the past week, but I still don't think it'll make it quite as high as #4; I'd expect around #6. Personally, the track's been growing on me, and I do think the remix is marginally better than the original, but I was incredibly disappointed that Ariana basically only had a couple lines and some ad-libs. It could barely even be considered a feature!
By the way, I uploaded my newest CrownNote chart not too long ago, so I'd love if you could check that out whenever you get the chance!

At least it should be able to manage another three weeks at #1, bringing its total to eight! ;)

'Hot Girl Bummer' is also the first song from Blackbear to make my charts, which is a significant achievement, since I never really liked a lot of his music before this.

I saw that both made your charts, which I'm very happy about, although we do have a different favourite of the two!

Turns out you weren't far off regarding your prediction on 'Good As ', since it make #7 in the new chart.

I commented there not too long ago actually!
