Where is Kylie's Stop me from Falling? It's a superb song.
James England
She's too old for the younger streaming generation. Anyone over 40 has no chance these days!
"I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky. I should be so lucky in the chart."
:P

Ted
Eminem's over 40 now and he still has hits...
SH
Scott Harris
Eminem, Sia and David Guetta are all over 40 and they still have hits and appeal to the younger streaming generation.
James England
I don't think any of those artists were big in 1987, though! :P Kylie has been around since then! 80s acts struggle in the streaming era.Kim Wilde released new material last week, Bucks Fizz (anyone remember them?) released new stuff last year. Didn't impact the chart. Kylie and Madonna - the two biggest female acts back in their day - struggle for streaming chart success. Pink is 38 - she had a recent hit, although she's not from the 1980s generation. I think once you hit 35 you should be banned from making pop music. Yes, that seems fair enough. :P
Ray Murray
Mr Brightside back in for a 200th week? Will people not leave that song alone? What is so special about it anyway? Awesome rocker maybe, but the lyrics are just total nonsense.
James England
It's like Brexit, it never seems to go away!

These Days far better than God's Plan... bring back Mr Blobby - all is forgiven!!!
James England
Mr Blobby was one mean gangsta! He put the rhyme in grime, the swing in bling!
Dan Love
I disagree. These Days is annoying and definitely the worst song by Rudimental ever. God's Plan is definitely better in my opinion, just like how in your opinion 'These Days far better than God's Plan'
Of course Drake has stayed at number 1 too long but God's Plan is remaining popular and I don't think that his label have manipulated the charts
If anything the number 1 should be Feel It Still
Dan Love
Blobby, oh Mr Blobby, if only you could make us understand
Blobby, oh Mr Blobby, your influence will spread throughout the land
Let's hear it for Mr Blobby
(Blobby, blobby, blobby)
His philosophy of life will steer him through
And as far as he can see
He's the same as you and me
There's nothing in the world he cannot do
No hill too high, no desert too dry
No road too long, no tide too strong
No bridge too far, he's got a car
No slope to steep, no thought too deep
No star too bright, no squeeze too tight
No tale too tall, no cat too cool
No bass too low, he'll give it a go
No end to his talents, no sense of balance
Blobby, oh Mr Blobby, when disaster strikes you never get depressed
Blobby, oh Mr Blobby, you'll always prove that Blobby is the best
Although he's unconventional in hue
His philosophy of life will steer him through
And despite the limitation
Of his poor co-ordination
He knows he'll show the world a thing or two
(Blobby, blobby, blobby)
Blobby, Mr Blobby, you're the guy who puts the do in do or die
Blobby, Mr Blobby, your deeds are guaranteed to stupefy
No ride too rough, no test too tough
No act too slick, no race too quick
No shot too hot, he'll hit the spot
No style too chic, no joke too weak
No chance too slim, no fate too grim
No foe too strop, no odds too long
No price too high, he's put some by
No dodge, no doubt, no backing out
Blobby, oh Mr Blobby, if humanity's a question of degree
Blobby, Mr Blobby, stay loyal to your Blobby pedigree
Blobby, oh Mr Blobby, you're the one who bears the pink and yellow crest
Blobby, Mr Blobby, you'll always prove that Blobby is the best
No it's cancer.
Dan Love
Oh no now I have that cancerous song in my head again
V
Vikingman
That proves it! People still love Mr Blobby and remember him fondly. If I was on facebook I would start a campaign to get everyone to download it and get it in the charts again but I'm NOT so I WON'T. Maybe it's God's Plan to resurrect him ... one of These Days perhaps.
I.B.
Change that number one please! Well over in the Scottish charts, Rudimental is number one for a sixth week I believe and Drake's 'God's Plan' hasn't got past #9!
Dan Love
I'm pretty sure the Scottish Singles Chart is based on sales only so it's not as accurate
imo These Days is the worst song Rudimental have ever done and God's Plan is better. But yeah he has been number one for too long
Hopefully he should be out the week in 2 or 3 weeks on ACR
Also note that These Days beat God's Plan on the chart update so it's obvious it is edging its way towards number 1
T
Ted
I don't know if it affects the chart, but These Days is on Now 99- and God's Plan is not- and I'd imagine streams from that on Spotify count towards it unless there's a rule against that too. Besides, ACR is not far off for God's Plan, but the same goes for These Days- so there's a chance we could have a wholly new number 1. Maybe Charlie Puth's new track?
Totally agree with you on These Days and God's Plan mate, God's Plan is not a bad song, in fact it's very good indeed compared to Drake's earlier stuff IMO, but Rudimental have dropped the ball with These Days. I really liked Waiting All Night and Feel The Love, but their new stuff just isn't as good. Sun Comes Up was a little better but James Arthur's vocals got on my nerves a bit in that one.
I.B.
Wouldn't streaming songs in a compilation album only contribute towards the compilations chart?
T
Ted
That was what I was asking- I didn't know if the rules were so on Spotify. If they aren't These Days could get a massive boost, it's the first track on it!
Dan Love
And Rudimental are closing the gap
They were 12K combined sales behind drake 2 weeks ago. This week they were 937 sales behind
Dan Love
It's partly due to the fact that Drake's spotify streams have been falling quickly for the past few weeks. ACR is almost certain in two weeks
F
Fedup
Meaningless, stagnant chart again as usual. First we had the charts stifled with album tracks. That was addressed & now it's all about Spotify playlist manipulation on a grand scale where major labels & artists are paying to get onto any key Spotify playlist out there. This Is then fuelled by a lazy general public who A) only wants to stream, not buy their music B) can't be arsed to have their own minds & find new music, opting to just click play on the same Spotify playlists everyone else is clicking play on. End result a stagnant chart line-up week in, week out.
Rob Parkinson
It's only going to change when everybody moves to streaming. It's already taking over more than 50% of the total. If all the people that had purchased a sale of rudamemtal were streaming it each week each week then rudamemtal would have been no.1 a long time ago as they would effect the chart each week rather than just the 1 week where the sale counted. The chart will never show a true reflection until everybody listens the same way and the way it's going is streaming, which inturn would show a fairer reflection of the popularity of individual tracks as how many times have you purchased different tracks where some you never stop listening to and others you barely listen to? A sale would show each of these tracks being equal whereas streaming shows the songs people are actually listening to more often.
Foxes
"over more than 50% of the total" is a massive understatement. This week streaming made up 93.87% of the singles market in the UK.
James England
I've suggested this before and I know it's NEVER gonna happen but a chart limit for each song - for example 16 - 20 weeks max and then it's not longer given streaming chart status - would bring more songs into the chart. Imagine if every song had a limit of five months in the top 40. I think that's long enough. How many weeks do kids/teenagers need to stream the same song! With due respect to the OCC , this stream ratio stuff seems pointless. Tracks still hang about for months regardless what stream ratio rules are in place.
Piran
Sad to see 'These Days' get blocked by 'God's Plan' for a sixth consecutive week, but I love that 'The Middle' is now a Top 10 hit & that both 'Fine Line' & 'Paradise' are close to getting there.
I don't like seeing 'Strangers' & 'Finesse' falling hard like that, but it's cool that 'Meant To Be' gained so much this week!
I have a very busy weekend, but I'll try to post a full review at some time next week! :)
Marcothedonjuan
Glad Say Something is still no. 9! :)
