Suicide Squad had a big influence on the charts today. Heathens climbs to 9 and overall there are 6 songs out of the album in the top 100. These include you don't own me, a song I thought no one likes anymore. I admit I used to like it but I dont anymore.

Nice to see songs like closer and flex have big climbs today. I dont think either are done climbing yet and will be big hits soon.

Annoying to see that in the name of love didn't reach the top 40 but im sure it will next week.

And I hope toothbrush and dont need no money reach top 40 soon; both are great.

One song that deserved to be a big hit but wasn't....

There's still good pop music out there but not all gets to chart high in the streaming/sales chart.

Why make a "NEW VERSION" of something resulting there is absolutely nothing NEW in it? I´m talking about Panic! At Disco´s Bohemian Rhapsody. 41 years have past and THAT is what they came up with? Just a thin shadow of the original track! I would´t want to hear that version live!

I'm glad "Let Me Love You" didn't go number 1. I didn't like that song anyway.

So here is my usual review of the UK charts this week:
- Congratulations to: Major Lazer, Justin Bieber & MO, as 'Cold Water' leads the singles chart for a 3rd week. 2016 continues to be an amazing & well-deserved year for JB as 'Let Me Love You' (with DJ Snake) was also this week's highest new entry at #2...giving JB the Top 2 spots once again. The very summery 'Sunshine' entered the Top 40 for the first time & 'Sucker For Pain' also jumped into this region this week as well, whilst 21 Pilots earn their first Top 10 with 'Heathens' (20-9), thanks to the release of the 'Suicide Squad' soundtrack last Friday. Also great to see 'Closer' be the highest climber inside the Top 40, as it soars 33-12. It looks very likely to become their 2nd Top 10 next week & is easily my favourite song from them. Another notable climber is Fifth Harmony's 'All In My Head [Flex]' which went 36-25. :)
Good for Blossoms as their self-titled debut album enters at #1 & as for next week, other than 'Sunshine' & 'You Don't Know Love' climbing by quite a bit (Olly's song is due to an iTunes discount), then I don't see much more major movement in the charts next Friday. Overall though it was a decent singles chart due to a lot of dance inside it, which is my favourite genre of music.

Oh yeah... I just saw the 65-28 jump for 'Sucker For Pain' & never realised until now that it's a new entry in the Top 40! Thanks for telling me though & I'll edit it in to my review. ;)

Justin Bieber is dominating both the UK and Scottish charts with different songs. What can I say?

The music industry is in a pathetic, doomed, laughable state? Terrible, absolutely terrible. Nothing of any worth here apart from Coldplay hanging on in there. Kids' gibberish, all of it.

So here is my usual review of the UK singles chart:
- Congratulations to: Major Lazer, Justin Bieber & MO for a 3rd week at #1 with 'Cold Water', as it continues to be another big week for dance music across the Top 40. Once again, awesome that JB has the Top 2 at the same time as DJ Snake's 'Let Me Love You' is today's highest new entry at #2, with the very summery 'Sunshine' as the other new entry. It was great to see 'Closer' be this week's biggest climber by soaring 33-12... but I think this will continue make another rise next week (to earn their 2nd Top 10) & for me it's the best song they've done so far. Meanwhile 21 Pilots earn their 1st Top 10 as 'Heathens' leaps 20-9, thanks to the release of the 'Suicide Squad' soundtrack last Friday. I don't really see any big new releases in terms of songs today, but good for Blossoms too as they enter at #1 on the albums chart with their self-titled debut. Also expect Olly Murs' 'You Don't Know Love' to move upwards by quite a bit in the charts next week as it was recently discounted on iTunes. :)

So here is my usual review of the UK charts today:
- Well it looks like its been a big week for both dance music & the 'Suicide Squad' soundtrack. Firstly, congratulations to: Major Lazer, Justin Bieber & MO for a 3rd consecutive week at #1 on the singles chart with 'Cold Water'. It was great seeing another JB vs JB battle on the charts today & this also happened with Bieber's other big hits, 'Sorry' & 'Love Yourself'. Here's another interesting point... if JB is #1 again next week, he'll have spent his 17th week at the top this decade, which then becomes more than any other act has done in the 2010s. Great for DJ Snake as well as 'Let Me Love You' is this week's highest new entry at #2.
- As I mentioned earlier, the 'Suicide Squad' film release last Friday has helped boost some of the songs from it, with the biggest being 'Heathens' & gives 21 Pilots their first Top 10 appearance in the UK as a result. The biggest climber across the Top 40 came from The Chainsmokers & Halsey, as 'Closer' leaped from 33 to 12, up 21 places. The Chainsmokers' look very likely to earn their 2nd Top 10 hit next Friday & this is my favourite song from the duo so far. 'Sunshine' was also new to the Top 40 today, which is nice to see considering it's summertime! :)
- Regarding next week, 'You Don't Know Love' by Olly Murs will take a big jump back up the Top 40 thanks to the discount on iTunes fuelling its sales, but I can't see any major new entries that will go anywhere near the top for the next chart. Over on the albums chart tonight, Blossoms' self-titled debut album is new at #1... so very good job to them.
