Monday Update 03/07/2023

This review is gonna be as brief as I can make it without sounding pretentious because, ahem...

NOTHING NEW OUTSIDE OF THE TOP 20 IS GOING ON.

So yeah, quiet week ahead, as usual. O-Rod is still at 2, D-Block Europe crumble a bit, Lil Uzi Vert doesn't want to have hits it seems. Not even the Glastonbury affected tracks are going anywhere, which is a right old pain in the groin.

As for the new stuff, well, Charli XCX could be doing a whole letter better if she made her song longer, as her contribution to the Barbie soundtrack is going SWIMMINGLY right now, and for the hype and delirium surrounding Fall Out Boy's round-up of what's been going on since '89, I fear that one isn't going to crack the 40 either. Brilliant.

It's a lot more chaotic over on the album chart, obviously, with Nothing But Thieves hoping to make it fourth time lucky with their new set. Given they've been inescapable on national radio in recent times, what with Welcome to the DCC and all, you'd expect them to run away with this one. Lil Uzi Vert is at 4, Maisie Peters slides to 17 (not as low as I expected, which is cool I guess), Madonna keeps flogging her remix album to death, but at No.2 is a complete unknown. Does anybody is the global stratosphere have a clue who "Grain Chatten" is? No? Oh, isn't he that guy from Fontaines D.C.? Welp, that should've been pretty obvious.

Tough luck for me, though, who will have to pull all the strings to come up with something creative for Friday's examination. Besides, Beyonce's Cuff It is on ACR again, so we'll have to get SOMETHING new on Friday, right? RIGHT!?

(P.S. Also, I know people are gonna be over the moon about Taylor Swift doing ANYTHING upwards, but I'm at least glad that she looks set to replace Switch Disco in the Top 10. FINALLY.)

(P.P.S. Oh right, Madonna's ill. Should've figured. Still doesn't change the fact the HUGE jump in the Album update looks a bit faulty, don't cha think?)

I hope, "Vampire" will reach #1 in the Official Charts on Friday...when I heard the song first, it didn't impress me at first, but after hearing it eight times, Olivia got me at last...

Heat Waves is over 3 years old now so should be moved to permanent ACR.

unfortunately it’s not on a decline atm so it won’t be affected 😩 as soon as it goes on ACR it’ll stay on it though

Hello, I'm new here and it's my first (short) chart update review!

Happy that Olivia set to debut at 2, because I think that "Vampire" is a good song. Two other Top 10 ones - "Good Love" and "Cruel Summer" - are even better, both 10/10 for me! Hopefully D-Block Europe's "Pakistan" won't be big hit, not a fan of these guys...

More info on Friday!
