You know what they should do dig out the old NME mags the same ones the Indie Charts started in around 1978-1980 with the self made ones and the official MRIB one in 1980 itself.

Why because the same publication sometime after Sounds and Number One stopped doing it had the rights to the full Official MRIB Midweek Chart Update after them the official predecessor to this midweek chart as it was produced the same day.

MRIB was the other Official Chart to Gallup but the results were different despite most of the shops being the same as they took the counts mid week and had a lot more Indie Stores support as well but that makes it the mid week official chart of the UK.

I think if the site was ever going to release the full vault of our other official chart it would have to be in the mid week one as it was the official midweek version of 80s - 00s chart like MRIB was the recognised Indie Official Pre 1997 and NME 78-80 but they become the publisher of MRIB Indies when they got off the map but had their own before it started which means the length is actually longer than 1980 of the Indie as they had pre MRIB.

For getting Indies finally set up I'd get all the issues MNE or the so called big book they did and just make charts from numbers info.

But for mid week it's complicated 1978 the mid week was done by Record Business before MRIB got into the picture in both Superpop and on their own.

Then when those stopped RB continued in Sounds Mag up until 1983 then from 83-85 after the full death the midweek was took over by MRIB for 2 years in that mag.

Then it transferred to Number One then when that got took over by the Official Sunday Chart by Gallup the mid week offering went to NME where the Indie was already for years for it's probably permanent home until MRIB's death which was about when this kicks in continuing the linage of the mid week.

Kantar do need to pick up whatever that NME book with the MRIB history was it might not have the full charts but all you need is the tracks and info for creating them yourselves as mid week charts but later MRIB and early RB mid weeks might be harder.

The older Indie Charts and the older Midweek charts are promises not yet fulfilled on the MRIB side of OCC.

There was also a lot of classic official genre charts by small chart companies, MRIB and Gallup and they are widespread over all the classic publications.

The Disco Charts and 12"Charts would count towards the early Dance Music Chart as it was the original Dance Music after Northern Soul so they are important to try to get for finishing what we have too.

And Rock Charts I think started a long time before the site too.

It looks like 'Montero [Call Me By Your Name]' will remain at #1 again, meaning that it would already match the same number of weeks that 'Old Town Road' got at the top of the charts in the UK! :O
