Where the are Daughtry??
Their new album is great, can't believe it didn't even chart in the UK.
DIL LONGSTAFF
Mad chart...you me at six had a number 1 album new entry...and the following week had dropped out of the chart 100.
M
Moca
You could sort of say the same for The Vaccines' Back in Love City. It was in the Top 5 on its first week and vanished completely! (Despite still charting the physical sales).
But, like I said in one of the comments, second week drops are very common for not-so established bands as they usually rely on physical/digital sales upon their release.
Streaming sales are occasionally rock genre's weakness (Well, except for Foo Fighters and Royal Blood this year) when you look at the separate charts due to the dominance of established artists in the streaming charts.
DIL LONGSTAFF
If they removed compilations what a different chart it would be.

I do miss Dina Carroll n wish she'd make another album. She ad 2 platinum sellin albums so no reason for er not to come back.

streaming is dominating the whole charts. I never thought it would dominate the album charts as it is doing, but it is. The problem is as I have said on here before, you only have to play one song or fllick through the songs on an album on Spotify or Deezer and it equates to having listened to the whole album which in reality the so called listener hasn't listened to the whole album at all. So the albums charr position becomes farcicle. This is why streaming should be branded an illegal act. The only true way to have a hit is via actual sales, as it shows that fans of an artist are putting their money where their mouths is. Any fool can stream music but do they actually like what they are hearing? For example you wouldn't go out and spend £5 on a cd single that you are not that keen on, yet you might play it on Spotify as its not costing you anything, yet that listen will contrubute to a chart position which if you understand my explanation you can

Them albums aint sellin like wot they used to cos streamin as taken over.
OP
Oliver Prange
In my hometown in Germany there's a guy wo has a barn full of albums. About 40,000 2nd hand Vinyls. It is such a joy just browsing, looking at them, holding them in hands. Pure magic. Streaming doesn't give you any of that. No lasting feelings in streaming music.
DK
Dave Knight
I agree
Craig Hills
its good genesis are back in the top ten , what an amazing band;

A big drop for Steps from #2 to #22

Absolutely
M

I think that's a decent hold for an established pop band.

Shockin the stranglers was only in for 1 week at 4. One of them bands I love seein dahn our gaff n in the charts, back to the good old days n all, shockin juss shockin. Steps old on in there please. Less try n get Boney M back in there n all.
Carpgate
Looks like all the Stranglers fans bought it in the first week!
Marko
Where the are Daughty with Dearly Beloved?
Their best album since Baptized.
It's a disgrace they didn't even make the charts.
M
Moca
Not seeing Employed To Serve's Conquering up there in the Top 100 is rather depressing, not even on the physical chart (Definitely an overlooked album of the year).
Also, The Vaccines' Back in Love City avalanched out of the Top 100 on its second week, despite still in the physical charts!
thierry henon
And my favourite singer DERMOT KENNEDY is back inside the Top 40 but maned as well to be the HIGHEST climb of the week!! 22 places up....yippee, yippee!!
thierry henon
Am i dreaming? DOJA CAT back inside the Top 5 this week for a 12th week inside the Top 10 as well!! So happy to see her having so much success worldwide!! Next artist has to be my baby girl LIZZO!!
thierry henon
and ABBA is back inside the TOP 10 this week!! They are unstoppable....What an amazing band!!
timmusicmaniac@yahoo.ca
ABBA to be back at No.7 this week They are out selling all the new acts with an Album that is 29 years old...Can't wait to see the SALES for there new album VOYAGE coming out Nov.5-2021....its gonna be massive....
DIL LONGSTAFF
Gold includes tracks from the early 70's...it seems very odd this is still selling enough to go top 10.Surely everyone who bought ion LP and then on Cd has had it...
thierry henon
OMG! I was, like many, expecting LIL NAS X to be our new number 1 album!! He so deserved it!! Another week with the talentless drake at the top!!
Marko
Music is dying slowly..
DK
Dave Knight
I agree, and streaming is speeding up the death of music.
Damián
Agree
PK
Philip King
On the album sales chart, the dullest act on the planet Drake isn't even inside the top 100.
Remove streaming from the chart, it's a joke.
timmusicmaniac@yahoo.ca
I agree 100% remove streaming for the charts....I can't even Name or sing 5 Drake Songs and he has had like 50 Top 10 in the USA 9 of them last week alone....So stupid the Charts...
DK
Dave Knight
Streaming should never have been a main stay on the chart, its a farce. Chart positions should be based on sales only.
Vishal G Titus
What all are considered on Charts?
Sales and Streaming?

Thass juss wot I think n all on streamin it aint right.
Piran
Absolutely shocked that Lil Nas X didn't get the #1 album, but I'm happy to see Tion Wayne also finish the week in the Top 5 with him. :)
