What's with Whitney's Ultimate Collection being replaced with 'I will always love you Greatest hits?
A

I was wonderin abahrt that n all.
DIL LONGSTAFF
Who on Earth is still buying Queen's Greatest Hits first released in 1981,Abba Gold from 1992 and Bob Marley's Legend best of,a 1984 release?
KG
Keith Gillespie
Good music has no barriers and new fans are discovering their music all the time. That is why Elvis continues to sell long after his death
S
Scott
Same for Michael Jackson at number 29 there with a compilation of classics (in fact the debunked 2019 'documentary' actually increased his sales, youtube subs, spotify streams probably because people like myself finally realised things didn't add up and went to check out the facts and learn those guys are frauds and the director has often said some extremely creepy things). And Thriller has sold a lot in the US this year on vinyl too. A lot of new fans of classic artists like Jackson, Queen, Abba etc. Great music is timeless and keeps finding new listeners long after the 15 minutes of fame fad artists are gone and forgotten.

The Albums chart is so much more interesting and varied than the insipid laughable jokefest farce that is the Singles chart.
Luis Gerardo Amador
Omayga!!!! Really??? You do think the singles chart is a farce?? ... I was believing in it... You broke my heart so badly 🥺😢

yes the album chart contains more diverse music which best represents what is selling and being listened to rather than the singles chart which is a load of .
Kasra Souresrafil
Who needs other bands and variety in music when Queen do it all!
thierry henon
No surprise there for THE KILLERS! but i reckon their new album like the previous one won't stay long inside the Top 100!! Anyway nowadays having a number 1 album doesn't mean anything and some after 1 year being released are not even certified!! So many albums didn't even make the Top 30 but stuck inside the album chart for nearly a year or more and have sold over 100k copies!! ie: LIZZO, DOJA CAT, BECKY HILL, JAX JONES etc...
Steven Meli
Yes, but one has to put in consideration that The Killers didn't even release any major single before this album, and unlike the other artists you mentioned, they barely get any airplay nowadays. The album was barely promoted, is quite lowkey (but possibly their finest album to date), so it's still quite an achievement. Artists / bands that get a number one album but do not stay in the chart for long, are generally artists that have a dedicated fanbase, and it's nice to see different acts, from different eras topping the album chart, unlike the singles chart where it's mostly, the most obvious (just like the current #1). What I'm trying to say is, most of those acts that you mentioned are current artists that are in their prime of their popularity, but most of them will be forgotten in a few years' time... they might still be releasing material but it'll always be more difficult to break into the charts, when you are competing with newer acts. It's nice to see bands/artists that endure and still manage to be popular, almost 20 years from their peak.
Damián
Thats true!
Luis Gerardo Amador
You are so right, dude...
PS
Pekka Sahlberg
Queen is going on so strong, yippee!! I don't think they never go away and that is just as it should be!!

100 years time Queen and ABBA will still be in the chart
Marko
Luke Hemmings has the best album.
To be at 51 is a joke.
Damián
Yep...cant believe it has charted so bad
Marko
The most overrated band in the world
Stephen Collumbell
Only 5 new entries on the Album chart is this a record
Damián
Just embarrassing to see many albums releases and only 5 of them made the top 100. This chart should be about old compilations
Stephen Collumbell
They do have a compilation chart perhaps they should have one for Best of/Greatest hits
A
addickted2hcharlton
Yeah but I like seein the ultimates, greatest its n golds in the main chart on ere.
Keybasher
You do sometimes get the impression Brandon Flowers could get a UK No 1 album singing the phone book
Luis Gerardo Amador
He he he he he!!! Does he?? Great performance in this life since his band was created in The Las Vegas scene back in 2001!!! 🏆🏆🏆
