Top 10 albums of the year - week 20:
1 (1) Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia 1398 (1328)
2 (2) Harry Styles - FIne Line 1359 (1295)
3 (4) Queen - Greatest Hits 1333 (1270)
4 (3) Pop Smoke - Shoot For The Stars 1332 (1272)
5 (5) Lewis Capaldi - Divinely Uninspired 1281 (1220)
6 (6) Fleetwood Mac - 50 Years Don't Stop 1272 (1207)
7 (7) Ed Sheeran - Divide 1239 (1177)
8 (8) Elton John - Diamonds 1215 (1147)
9 (9) Juice Wrld - Legends Never Die 1069 (1031)
10 (10) Fleetwood Mac - Rumours 1065 (1008)
Queen overtake Pop Smoke. In general, the older greatest hits are catching or overtaking the more modern studio albums - but slowly! Meanwhile, due to so many (39) albums on chart all year, new albums on chart for the first time this year are very low on the Chart Impact chart above while a huge gap between 8 and 9 occurs - almost insurmountable with 2 weeks at #1 if Diamonds was out of the chart. The biggest new hit is also a greatest hits - Highlights by The Weeknd at #18 but 100 points (positions) away from a top 10 place.

Another week on the chart The Immaculate Collection might just sell more this year than Madame X managed in total.

Pre-orders and physical make for high new entries. Streaming is people playing it and counting toward the chart. Previously people play the record and not count toward the chart, so the records that people play (more often old classics than new releases - look at the amount of greatest hits on chart!) form a strong base-line, not present in the physical-only era. The heavier the balance towards physical sales these days, the faster it falls. Especially if it's and act with a niche fanbase.

Royal Blood still in the top 10 like the absolute champs they are yeah
