No surprise Prince Very Best Of and Purple Rain soundtrack re-enters following unexpected departure. Amazing to see Fleetwood Mac Rumours just continues to notch up now a 626 weeks on chart count. What with PSB, Phil Collins, Whitney Houston, Queen, Bowie, Paul Young and The Eagles all in the Top 100 its starting to look like a 1980s album chart! And why is Phil Collins No Jacket Required 1984 album considered a NEW and not re-entry and not adding to its weeks on chart count?
nunzio nigro
Right, it is a re-entry even if there's a change of label
R
Ronnie
Whitney's still on there- 165 weeks and counting. The Ultimate Collection was in the top 100 best-selling albums in the UK last year and may be on the list again this year- sure & steady- watch it go 6 / 7 x Platinum. Just watch.
drew
done well for an average album
R
Ronnie
Average? How do you mean- this is the greatest voice in music's greatest songs! If you mean "average" in that the label just put it out there with no promotion- then yes- because I've read that it has sold over 5 million Worldwide- with ZERO promotion.
drew
she could not exactly promote it herself and as we know death is the best
promotion.
A
addickted2hcharlton
Ere are iss ad loads of promotion. Ow much promo do the other really great singers like Donna, Gladys, Aretha, Tina, Roberta, Nina et al get for their greatest its - 0. Iss not right Ouston gets so much ubris for not avin the talent of all them others.
drew
best promotion is death
