Wicked – For Good flies straight to Official Film Chart Number 1

As The Ballad of Wallis Island returns to the chart

Wicked - For Good

Congratulations to Wicked – For Good who have picked up the coveted Number 1 spot on this week’s Official Film Chart for the first time following its release.

Continuing the story of Elphaba and Glinda, the film explores the lasting consequences of their choices as loyalties are tested and destinies sealed. With darker emotional stakes, expansive musical sequences and a more dramatic tone, it marks a bold and confident next chapter in the Oz saga.

Just behind at Number 2, Dracula continues its steady climb. This atmospheric reimagining of Bram Stoker’s classic leans into gothic horror and psychological tension, presenting a haunting portrait of obsession, immortality and the price of eternal life.

Returning to the chart at Number 3, The Ballad of Wallis Island offers a striking tonal shift. Set against a windswept island backdrop old tensions resurface when former bandmates who were former lovers reunite for a private show at the island home of an eccentric millionaire.

Still commanding attention at Number 4, Wicked continues its remarkable run. The film explores the unlikely friendship between Elphaba and Glinda before they become legends, exploring prejudice, ambition and the cost of standing apart, all wrapped in lavish visuals and iconic songs that reframe the Land of Oz.

Holding firm at Number 5, Jurassic World – Rebirth pushes the franchise’s core idea further than ever. As dinosaurs become fully integrated into the modern world, the story follows scientists, governments and civilians struggling to maintain balance, while new species and escalating threats turn coexistence into a global crisis.

Sinners (6) follows twin brothers, both played by Michael B. Jordan, who attempt to escape their violent pasts by returning to their hometown in search of a fresh start. Instead, they find themselves drawn into a far darker threat than anything they left behind.

Re-entering the Top 10 this week, A Minecraft Movie (7) translates the global gaming phenomenon into a live-action adventure. Set in a block-built world governed by creativity, the story follows a group of unlikely heroes who must work together to protect their realm, celebrating imagination, teamwork and problem-solving along the way.

Downton Abbey – The Grand Finale (8) continues to offer refined storytelling and emotional closure. The Crawley family and their staff face personal crossroads and changing traditions, as the film brings long-running storylines to a graceful and heartfelt conclusion.

Flying in at Number 9, How to Train Your Dragon (2025) revisits the beloved fantasy universe for a new generation. The film reimagines the bond between humans and dragons, focusing on trust, courage and unity while delivering sweeping visuals and emotional depth.

Rounding out the Top 10, Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning remains a reliable action staple. Ethan Hunt faces the consequences of past missions as global threats converge, pushing the limits of loyalty, sacrifice and survival through high-stakes espionage and breathtaking practical stunts.
