Westlife announce their return to music: relive the chart-topping Irish group's chart history
Westlife have announced their return to music.
Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne confirmed that they will release new music as a quartet, their first new material for seven years.
Since their hiatus began, co-lead vocalist Shane has released three UK Top 20 albums, the first of which spawned the Top 20 single Everything To Me. Mark Feehily has also released solo music; his debut album under his full real name Markus Feehily titled Fire peaked at Number 25 in October 2015. Meanwhile, Kian won the 2013 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Here, and Nicky represented Ireland at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
Original member Brian McFadden - part of the group until 2003 - is not part of the group's revival. He is appearing on the upcoming 2019 season of Dancing On Ice.
While the name of a new album or single from Westlife has not yet been confirmed, new music was teased as "coming soon", while a tour is also in the works.
