Together For Palestine: "A Christmas Number 1 with Lullaby would mean hope"
Leigh-Anne, Mabel, Bastille's Dan Smith, Lana Lubany and Nai Barghouti on my Christmas Number 1 contender Lullaby is 'a small beam of light in such darkness'
A key contender in 2025's Official Christmas Number 1 race, Together For Palestine sees over 15 UK and Palestinian artists - from Neneh Cherry to Nadine Shah - unite to raise urgent, life-saving funds for the people of Gaza.
With all profits from the release going to Choose Love’s Together For Palestine Fund, this powerful reimagining of traditional Palestinian folk song Yamma Mweel El Hawa supports three Palestinian-led organisations: Taawon, Palestine Children's Relief Fund and Palestine Medical Relief Service.
Currently tracking for a Top 5 place in this year's Official Christmas Singles Chart, the song also sat atop the iTunes chart for five consecutive days and counting.
Today, Leigh-Anne, Mabel, Bastille's Dan Smith, Lana Lubany and Nai Barghouti explain why Lullaby is 'a small beam of light in such darkness.'

When did you first get involved in the Together For Palestine project and why was it a no-brainer for you?
Leigh-Anne: Music has always been a way to comfort, connect and bring people together, and this project does exactly that. Being able to use my voice for something bigger than myself is always an easy yes.

Mabel: "I think that lots of people can relate to feeling helpless watching the atrocities unfold in Palestine, but we have to keep doing what we can, and using our voices is key. When I saw [Lullaby producer] Benji B in June and he told me about Together For Palestine, I knew instantly it was something I wanted to be involved in and that I wanted to help however I could."
Lana Lubany: "I found out about the project a couple of weeks before the Wembley concert, and it immediately felt like something I had to be part of. Singing a lullaby for Gaza’s children alongside other artists and coming together through music was incredibly moving."
Dan Smith: "When we were first approached about the T4P concert we immediately agreed to be involved. In the context of such an unimaginably awful situation we, like everyone else, I’m sure, have been keen to be as useful as possible.
"This version of the Lullaby was put together for the Wembley Arena show, but we weren’t able to perform it on the night, so I’m really glad it’s had a life as a record and can hopefully be useful in raising some money and a reason to keep talking about Palestine. Being part of the gig, and now getting to stand alongside so many amazing artists in support of a cause we believe deeply in was a complete no-brainer."

Nai Barghouti: "I got involved in this project back in September when we were preparing for the massive Together for Palestine event at the OVO Arena Wembley in London.
"I learned about the idea of turning the song into this beautiful collective project that is meant to bring together an incredible group of artists. It was of course a no-brainer for me to become part of it and to also help shape the overall artistic vision and arrangement of the song to make sure it’s a seamless blend of genres that come together as one in this track."

What are you most proud of when it comes to the Lullaby campaign?
Leigh-Anne: "I’m most proud of the unity behind it. So many artists, creatives and supporters coming together with genuine love and intention. It’s not about egos, it’s about honouring lives, supporting families, raising vital funds, and creating something that carries warmth, hope and remembrance. That collective spirit is really powerful."
Mabel: "I’m truly honoured that so many incredible artists came together to send this message of hope, but also so inspired by the amount of people supporting it."
Lana: "The sense of unity. Watching people show up for something bigger than themselves. It feels really special."
Dan: "The idea that at Christmas - which can be such a busy time of the year for everyone for many reasons - that this song might allow people to show support for Palestine and help raise some money for T4P’s work. Not to mention that the song itself is incredibly beautiful, and this version is stunning, so we’re really proud to be a tiny part of it alongside so many artists and musicians that I really admire."
Nai: "I am mostly proud of and humbled by the overwhelming support that we have been seeing globally.
"It would not have been possible without the strong unity, determination and dedication of everyone involved in T4P and its supporters, who have all gathered to stand and sing together for Palestine."

MORE: When will the Official Christmas Number 1 single 2025 be announced?
What would a Christmas Number 1 single mean to you and all involved?
Leigh-Anne: "It would be incredibly special. Not just because of the achievement, but what it would represent – people choosing compassion, community and meaning during a time of year that’s all about togetherness. A Christmas Number 1 would amplify the message of Lullaby and shine a bigger light on why this campaign matters."
Mabel: "A Christmas Number 1 would mean more than I can express! It sends a message to the world that is so important, that we are watching and that we won’t stop fighting until the people of Palestine are free."
Lana: "It would mean hope. Hope that empathy still cuts through, that people are willing to listen, and that compassion can exist on a global scale. It would be a reminder that collective action, even through something as simple as a song, can still matter."
Dan: "It would be amazing to see it reach Christmas Number 1 as a small symbol of support and love for people in Palestine. Also, hopefully it’ll give people a reason to think and talk about what’s still happening there."
Nai: "It would mean a lot! A small beam of light in such darkness. It would showcase a part of Palestine that is rarely discussed in the news - its beauty, talent, sophistication, creativity, and depth - all complemented by precious Palestinian ornaments, which can hopefully be enjoyed both by your ears and your Christmas trees."
How can people support the campaign this week and beyond?
Leigh-Anne: "People can support by streaming and downloading the song, sharing it with friends and family, and talking about why it matters. Even beyond this week, keeping the message alive, supporting the causes connected to the campaign and continuing to show up for one another is what really makes the difference. Every listen, every share, every conversation counts."
Mabel: "Buy Lullaby. Gift Lullaby, it’s a great Christmas present. Keep educating yourselves, use your platforms and your voices!"
Lana: "Spread the word, buy the song and download it. Every small action helps carry the message further."
Dan: "Go online and buy the song from as many places as possible! It’s the best way to help. And a massive thanks to everyone who’s supported it so far."
Nai: "We hope that people will continue to support this track by buying it, downloading it and sharing it with as many people as possible. It’s very important that we keep going!"
