Bastille have been announced as the guests for a very special Record Store Day episode of The Record Club.
To celebrate the forthcoming 2023 Record Store Day on April 22, the alt-pop band will be issuing an exclusive limited edition vinyl for their fans; a brand new pressing of their MTV Unplugged set, recorded in 2021 and including performances of their hit songs Pompeii and Happier across the 15-track set list.
Dan Smith says, "We’re so excited to finally release our MTV Unplugged show in full and on vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day. It was a privilege to work with some insanely talented musicians to put together these really different, special arrangements of a cross-section of our tunes. We added two new covers of songs that we love as a way of paying homage to the classic MTV Unplugged sessions we grew up on.
"All of us are massively proud of this record and the vinyl package we’ve put together for Record Store Day, which brilliantly supports the independent record stores that are so important to us massive fans of music, and to all of us who are lucky enough to work in music."
Join us this Wednesday (April 19 ) for a very special Record Store Day special of The Record Club, where Bastille will be chatting to BBC Radio's Jess Iszatt about the brand new release and all things Record Store Day.
Fans are also encouraged to submit their own questions live on-stream in the chat boxes as we'll be putting the best ones to them live - with one lucky fan whose question is asked winning a pair of snazzy Bowers & Wilkins headphones.
Designed as a book club for albums, The Record Club in association with Bowers & Wilkins is a bi-monthly livestream, hosted by BBC Music’s Jess Iszatt, on Facebook Live, Twitch, Twitter and YouTube Live every other Wednesday.
Fans are encouraged to order the selected album from their favourite local record shop either in-store or on home delivery, listen to it in full, then tune into the broadcast armed with their questions for the artist and a chance to win a prize.
