It’s a Tay Story! Taylor Swift lassos a seventh Official Number 1 single with Toy Story 5 offering, I Knew It, I Knew You

Written and produced by Taylor alongside Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff, the track harks back to her country roots while teasing the highly-anticipated fifth film in the Toy Story franchise, landing in cinemas on Saturday June 19.

I Knew It, I Knew You now joins Look What You Made Me Do (2017), Anti-Hero (2022), Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) (2023), Fortnight (2024), The Fate of Ophelia (2025) and Opalite (2026) in Taylor’s tally of chart-toppers.

Taylor now jumps up the list of artists with the most Official Number 1 singles in the UK, now sitting alongside the likes of Michael JacksonGeorge Michael and U2, all with seven apiece. She is also the first international artist to secure two Number 1 singles in 2026, after Opalite hit the top spot in February, and the first time in her career she has also done this. The only other artist to achieve this feat is Harry Styles with Aperture in February and American Girls in March.

Already knew from the day of announcement it was an inevitable no.1. How long at the top this time with Toy Story 5 out this week that will no doubt boost it more.

The article mentions that 'Opalite' is a 2025 chart-topper, then goes on to say it got there in February in the next paragraph. Anyway, I hope Taylor takes a bit of a break after this song.

I'd love to see Olivia Rodrigo go to #1 next week, ideally with 'The Cure'. Her new album is fantastic.
