Steve Aoki and JJ Lin team up on The Show: First Listen
Song of the summer incoming? Let's have a sneaky First Listen of Steve and JJ Lin's sublime new single
It's safe to say Steve Aoki knows his way around a banger. With a stellar catalogue of collaborations under his belt - from Louis Tomlinson to BTS - this week the Miami-born, 2-x-GRAMMY-nominated producer teams up with JJ Lin once again on brand-new track The Show.
The first release from FLUXGEN, a partnership between Steve and 88rising, a pioneering music company representing the best in Asian music talent, the cut sees Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin detail regret of a relationship lost. All atop a huge Aoki production, of course.

The Show starts off slow; JJ's vocals gliding over Aoki's enveloping instrumental.
'Sitting right here with the bottle of the red wine. Roll them notes and a reason for the headlines. Stayed at home should’ve listened for the first time. Oh I said I don’t want to be like that, I don’t want to be like that...'
Succumbing to his heartbreak, Lin's melancholic delivery complements the sublime, somewhat ethereal, track.
'Guess I’m getting on with the show, but it ain’t no good without you. I don’t like being alone, so I’m gonna go drink about ya...'
But it's not long until Aoki's production elevates the track into proper, song-of-the-summer, Ibiza anthem territory.
'Life don’t wait for anyone that I know. It’s going down with the devil and I sold my soul. Think I’m done but I can never never let it go. And now I kinda feel like them, I didn’t want to be like them.'

Chatting about the track, Steve says: "Music has the power to unite us, to inspire us, and to ignite our passion. The Show is a testament to the relentless spirit of chasing our dreams and never giving up.
"Together with JJ Lin for our second collaboration, we've created a sonic experience that pulsates with energy and resonates with the desire to keep pushing forward. Get ready to embrace the spotlight and let the music take you on a journey you won't forget."
JJ Lin adds: "Working with Steve is always so fun and easy, it’s like being in a ring with him where we exchange punches each time. First time he drops me a crazy remix for my single Not Tonight, and this time I lend my vocals in The Show.
"It’s a song that coincides with my 20 years since debut, and talks about the ups and downs of being in showbiz, and finding strength to keep true to one’s heart in this complicated world. Every time I work on an English number, it’s such a fresh experience, I would say, keep the collabs coming!"
Steve Aoki x JJ Lin's The Show is released Friday 26 May.
