Post Malone's brand new track Psycho lands straight in at Number 1 on this week's Official Trending Chart.

The rapper's latest single, released last Friday (Feb 22), tops the Top 20 chart of new songs making the biggest impact in the UK this week.

Psycho, which features rapper Ty Dolla Sign, is Post's latest single from his forthcoming album Beerbongs & Bentleys, which doesn't currently have a release date. The collection is also expected to feature last year's Number 1 hit Rockstar.

The track is on course to be the highest new entry over on this week's Official Singles Chart, currently at Number 4 in the latest sales flash.

Post Malone finishes ahead of Justin Timberlake on this week's trending Top 20; Say Something ft. Chris Stapleton is soaring up the Official Singles Chart this week following their performance at last week's BRIT Awards.

Meanwhile, 5 Seconds Of Summer feature prominently on the latest Official Trending Chart with their first single in two years, Want You Back, and George Ezra's latest offering Paradise is building steadily, on course to land inside this week's singles chart Top 40.

Further down, Kylie Mingoue's Dancing is making strides again following her performance on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway over the weekend, and Janelle Monae sees one of her two new singles trending in the UK with the Prince-inspired Make Me Feel.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart was launched in 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 singles Sign Of The Times by Harry Styles, New Rules by Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift's Look What You Made Me Do.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
