Paul Simon is heading for his first Number 1 studio album in 26 years with Stranger To Stranger
Paul Simon looks set to reclaim his place at the top of the Official Albums Chart this week as his brand new album Stranger To Stranger is heading for Number 1.
The legendary singer-songwriter’s 13th solo album follows last year’s chart-topping greatest hits collection, but if his sales momentum continues, it will be his first Number 1 studio album since 1990’s The Rhythm Of The Saints. Click here to see Paul Simon’s full Official Chart history.

Drake’s latest album Views is unmoved at 2 on today’s Official Chart Update, while Coldplay move up a place to 3 with A Head Full Of Dreams. The band kicked off their UK stadium tour in Manchester yesterday (June 5).
Grime MC Bugzy Malone lands at Number 4 with his second album Facing Time, and last week’s Number 1 The Ride by Catfish and the Bottlemen is at 5.
New entries and high climbers
Dexy’s fifth studio album, Let The Record Show: Dexys Do Irish And Country Soul, is new at Number 7, Danish metal band Volbeat are set for their first UK Top 40 album with Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie (Number 8), and The Kills are on track for their highest-charting album yet with their fifth record Ash & Ice (10)
A brand new album from The Monkees called Good Times! – marking the band’s 50th anniversary – starts at Number 13, Canadian siblings Tegan & Sara are at 17 with their eighth album Love You To Death, and Open Book by Scottish band Fatherson is new at 20.

Another six albums are currently on course to enter this week’s Official Albums Chart Top 40: Star Wars – Episode 4: A New Hope soundtrack at 21, Beartooth’s Aggressive at 22, and Ladyhawke’s third album Wild Things at 28.
Roxette’s tenth album Good Karma starts at 31, Budgie’s The MCA Albums 1973-1975 is at 33, and Minor Victories self-titled album is at 39.

PAUL SIMON awful new album at number 1!!! when ROXETTE new album with very good critics at 31!! god...am glad I am old...41 years old and don't care anymore about my favourite band/ singer: CYNDI LAUPER/ ROXETTE charting...as it is !! people nowadays got no taste!!
