Nina Nesbitt heading for her first Number 1 album with Peroxide
Nina Nesbitt could be heading for a debut Official Albums Chart Number 1 this Sunday, but could the impact of tonight’s BRIT Awards show threaten the Scottish singer-songwriter’s crown?
Nina Nesbitt could be heading for a debut Official Albums Chart Number 1 this Sunday, but could the impact of tonight’s BRIT Awards show threaten the Scottish singer-songwriter’s crown?
It looks like Nina Nesbitt won’t have to take too many Selfies this week – all eyes, and cameras, will be on her if she manages to score her very first Number 1 album by the final whistle this Sunday.
The Edinburgh-born singer is currently out in front on today’s Official Albums Chart Update with debut album Peroxide – featuring singles Stay Out, which reached Number 21 in 2013, and the aforementioned Selfies, which entered the Official Singles Chart at 40 last week.
However it is by no means a dead cert – fewer than 5,000 copies separate the whole of the Top 20 midweek, and with tonight’s inevitably star-studded BRITs performances to come from the likes of Beyoncé, Rudimental, Bastille, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Arctic Monkeys, Lorde and Disclosure, anything could happen between now and Sunday. Full post-event sales impact analysis will follow later this week on OfficialCharts.com.

Last week’s chart-topper from Katy B, Little Red, slips one place to Number 2; London Grammar’s If You Wait is a non-mover at Number 3 and Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon drops two places to Number 4. Beyoncé’s self-titled album rounds off our Top 5.
