LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER Eurovision Song Contest UK entry

Electronic music artist LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER has been chosen to represent the UK at Eurovision 2026.

Real name Sam Battle, the solo singer-songwriter who is also a content creator with hundreds and thousands of followers, first began his musical journey in 2014 as the frontman of an indie band called Zibra, performing at Glastonbury's BBC Introducing Stage in 2015.

Speaking on the exciting news, he said: "I have always been a massive Eurovision fan, and I love the magical joy it brings to millions of people every year, so getting to join that legacy and fly the flag for the UK is an absolute honour that I am taking very seriously.

"I will be bringing every ounce of my creativity to my performances, and I can't wait for everyone to hear and see what we've created. I hope Eurovision is ready to get synthesized!"

Moreover, the 36-year-old holds a Guinness World Record for building the world's largest drone synthesizer and has attracted strong attention for the remarkable electronic instruments that he creates, owing to his strong fanbase.

The song will be played on Radio 2 in the next coming weeks, with DJ Scott Mills describing the song as, "a bit of Basshunter's Now You're Gone and then put a bit of Parklife [by] Blur in there, and maybe you would add in a bit of West End Girls [by] Pet Shop Boys, maybe the synths of The Human League. Sprinkle a bit of Verka Serduchka in there. Maybe just a tiny bit of Sex Pistols.

"Stick all that in a blender and create a big anthem to take on Eurovision, one that I can imagine they will be singing in that arena."

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Vienna on Saturday 16 May after JJ won the competition for Austria last year.

While it sounds interesting and maybe finally a diversion from the too safe and not memorable enough perfomances over the years(Sam Ryder aside) will it still be the same old story from the many countrys who will not vote for us like Greece and Cyprus kissing each other backsides like they always do or former Russian break away states like Belarus and Kazhakstan to name a few or will the performance grabs Europes attention and have that certain something that Sam Ryder had that almost done it for us if it wasn't for the obvious sympathy winner Ukraine with the still ongoing war with Russia in 2022.?We await even though we're mugs for being eternal punchbags with the voting these days.
