Liam is the last member of One Direction release solo material, but slow and steady wins the race, right?

Liam Payne has sent his fans into a frenzy after posting a clip of what could be his debut solo single.

The former One Direction singer shared a 10 second video of himself without a shirt on (why not, eh?) with some R&B flavoured music in the background.

It's not clear whether the music is a snippet of his debut solo single, but given the side-eye emoji he posted alongside the video, we're guessing it's something we should be paying attention to. Watch below:

Liam is expected to release his new single on Friday, May 12 (ie tomorrow!) and it is said to feature US hip hop group Migos.

Liam has taken his time with his post-1D music career - he's the last member of One Direction to put out solo material. Slow and steady wins the race though, right?

We've been showered with 1D solo singles of late; Harry Styles recently topped the Official Singles Chart with his first single Sign Of The Times, last week Niall Horan put out his second track Slow Hands, and Zayn recently teamed up with PARTYNEXTDOOR on Still Got Time.

Official Charts has taken a look at how their initial solo offerings compare, looking at first week sales, chart positions and total sales.
