With the UK getting loved up for Valentine's Day this week, it's fitting that this week's Official Trending Chart Number 1 goes to For You, Liam Payne & Rita Ora's collaboration for the new Fifty Shades film.

The pair's duet, which serves as the main theme of the final instalment of the erotic romance franchise, finishes top of this week's trending chart, a Top 20 based on the upward momentum of new songs on the Official Singles Chart.

For You debuted at Number 11 on the Official Singles Chart last month and has since hovered around the Top 40. The film's release this week in time for Valentine's Day has seen the song surge back up the chart, currently on course to enter the Top 10 at Number 7 in the latest sales flash.

Another big film release, Marvel's latest superhero movie Black Panther, is also having a big impact on this week's chart. Leading the pack are Kendrick Lamar's collaborations with The Weeknd on Pray For Me and SZA on All The Stars, while X by Schoolboy Q, The Ways by Khalid and Swae Lee, I Am by BRITs Critics' Choice winner Jorja Smith and Opps by Vince Staples and Yungen Blakrok all finish inside the trending Top 20.

Elsewhere, Marshmello's new single with Anne-Marie, Friends, is making waves this week, as is James Bay's brand new single Wild Love and rapper Blocboy JB with his Drake collaboration Look Alive. All three are on course to land inside this week's Top 40 on the Official Singles Chart.

About the Official Trending Chart

The Official Trending Chart was launched in 2016 to highlight the hottest new tracks beginning to make an impact in the UK every week.

The Top 20 rundown, published on OfficialCharts.com every Tuesday, based on the first four days’ sales of each chart week, is designed to highlight emerging hits as they begin to scale the Official Charts and build buzz.

The Official Trending Chart ranks titles which are showing week-on-week chart growth, and is the only “new music” chart to reflect audio track sales and streams comprehensively across all services.

Devised by the Official Charts Company in close consultation with labels, retailers and media, the chart since launch has highlighted emerging hits such as Number 1 singles Sign Of The Times by Harry Styles, New Rules by Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift's Look What You Made Me Do.

The chart is designed to help highlight hit singles in their early stages of their growth, in the light of the shift in release strategies of record labels over the past six months. Under “On Air On Sale”, labels have started to release new music for consumers to buy or stream on the same day as those tracks are released to media (including radio stations and TV).
