Katy Perry's comeback single Rise now has a music video, and the metaphor game is strong is KP.

The official theme for NBC's coverage of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Rise is the first new material since This Is How We Do, the fifth and final single from Katy's third studio album Prism.

The video sees Katy held back by a parachute as she treks across a savanna and hangs from a cliff edge. The final scenes show Katy taking flight, rising into the air after she powers back against what has been keeping her down.

Discussing the song she co-wrote with Max Martin, Savan Kotecha and Ali Payamin, Katy said in a release: "This is a song that's been brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface. I know that together we can rise above the fear - in our country, and around the world."

Rise has so far peaked at Number 25 in the UK, while hitting Number 11 in the United States and Number 1 in Australia.
