Irish pop auteur Æ MAK makes a huge impact with new single Sun God, I'll Be Your Woman
The new track has been inspired by an ancient primordial goddess, and even features a kazoo.
Irish pop innovator Æ MAK has returned with the brilliantly titled new single Sun God, I'll Be Your Woman.
Her first new music of the year, Sun God...follows on from Æ MAK landing a very impressive sync in the latest Sally Rooney adaption series, Conversations With Friends.
Sun God...was directly inspired by the ancient deity Tiamat, a primordial goddess of the sea and chaos and the otherworldly sonics of the track even feature a kazoo to transport you back to antiquity.
"I bought a kazoo in the music shop in Dundalk with the intention of making a big bird kitsch dance tune," Æ MAK said in a statement.

"I'd been reading about Tiamat, the primordial goddess of chaos, and then got asked to make new work for Body&Soul festival's Eriu (the Goddess of Ireland) series so it was lovely and serendipitous and I made this bloopy bubble pagan ritual cartoon warrior song.”
Sun God, I'll Be Your Woman follows on from Æ MAK's 2021 EP Class Exercises, and the new release will see the pop innovator play a few Irish festivals across the remainder of the summer and beginning of autumn.
