War Child to reissue HELP for 30th anniversary

Some absolute legends on these tracks

HELP War Child Album 30th Anniversary

The 1995 charity album HELP is set to be reissued by War Child to celebrate 30 years since its release.

Released on September 9 1995, the project was created to raise funds and awareness for children that were affected by Bosnian conflict at the time.

Recorded in a single day and containing artwork from The Stone Roses' guitarist John Squire, the album raised over £1.25 million on its initial release. As well as this, it peaked at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, where it remained for two weeks.

The new release consists of 10 x 7" LPs, each of which contains two tracks from the original album. As well as this, the set will feature three exclusive postcards of never-before-seen images shot by Lawrence Watson at the recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios 30 years ago.

It will give a glimpse into music history where, at the height of the Britpop battle, Blur and Oasis settled their differences to record together, something that's yet to be repeated again.

The album also includes tracks from greats such as Sinéad O'Connor, Radiohead and Paul McCartney

Focusing before on Bosnian conflict, War Child has since extended to provide aid across the world, including in Gaza, Sudan and Ukraine.

Together with its partners, War Child delivers vital work in 14 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Every day, its local teams are in communities and refugee camps creating safe spaces for children to play, learn, and access psychological support. War Child also specialises in responding rapidly to emergency crisis situations as they happen, offering immediate and critical aid to keep children safe and help them through their trauma. War Child will never give up on children affected by conflict.
