George Ezra and Paloma Faith announced as performers at BBC Sports Personality Of The Year
Paloma Faith and George Ezra have been announced as performers for this year's BBC Sports Personality Of The Year.
They will be joined at the Genting Arena, Birmingham by Freya Ridings and fellow former Number 1 artists, The Lightning Seeds.
George Ezra achieved his first ever Number 1 single this summer with Shotgun, which has stayed in the Official Singles Chart Top 40 for 26 weeks.
Shotgun was knocked from the top spot by fellow SPOTY performers The Lightning Seeds with Three Lions, following England reaching the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup. It had been 22 years since the collab with David Baddiel and Frank Skinner last reached Number 1.
Freya Ridings is currently Number 9 on the Official Singles Chart with Lost Without You, enjoying her 12th consecutive week in the Top 40, while Paloma Faith has just re-released her Number 1 album The Architect.
This year's nominees will be announced live on the show for the first time. Para-athlete Kare Adenegan was named the BBC Young Sports Personality of the year in October.
Ticket holders will enjoy pre-show performances from Des Clark and athlete and singer Jazmin Sawyers ahead of the airing of the main programme.
The event takes place on Sunday December 16, with the final wave of tickets available now.
