Every Irish Number 1 album of 2018
From Ed Sheeran's two-week reign right back at the top of the year, 2018 has been an eclectic year for Official Irish Albums Chart Number 1s.
Huge movie musicals have played a big part this year: The Greatest Showman spent 14 weeks at Number 1 over three separate stints, while the cast recording of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again logged a month at Number 1 on release in July.
There were quite a few firsts at the top of the Official Irish Albums Chart. Post Malone, J. Cole, Drake and Kanye West all hit Number 1 for the first time, and Westmeath rockers The Academic spent two weeks at Number 1 with their debut album Tales from the Backseat.
The only female solo stars to hit the top were Taylor Swift, whose Reputation sneaked back to Number 1 for a week in June, and Ariana Grande, who racked up a second chart-topper when Sweetener went straight in at Number 1.
