David Bowie's music is to live on in a live capacity with a brand new tour featuring some of his most storied collaborators.

Bowie's recording and touring keyboardist Mike Garson will head up the band for Celebrating David Bowie, a 26-night tour that will stop off in the UK, Ireland, France, The Netherlands, the United States and Canada.

Three shows will take place in the UK & Ireland, beginning with a performance at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London on January 12, 2018. The show has origins in London too; the original event took place at Brixton Academy to mark what would have been his 70th birthday in January of this year.

Alongside Garson who was Bowie's longest-serving collaborator, guitarist and vocalist Andrew Belew who shared the stage with David on the Sound & Vision Tour has been confirmed, and A Reality Tour's guitarist Gerry Leonard completes a trio who have a combined 30 years experience working with David.

Let’s Dance/Serious Moonlight Tour bassist Carmine Rojas will also lend his talents to the celebrations, plus a series of special guests have been teased along the way. You just never know who may turn up...

Celebrating David Bowie creator and producer Angelo Bundini explained the concept for the new show: “After the last tour, I didn’t really imagine playing more shows because it was insanely difficult to pull off. David’s last tour was in 2004, so I began to wonder what he might do if he were to tour again today. That’s what we’re presenting in 2018.”

VIP tickets for the Celebrating David Bowie UK & Ireland shows are available now, while general sale opens this Friday (September 26).

Celebrating David Bowie's UK & Ireland Tour Dates are as follows:

Friday January 12 - London, UK - O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire

Saturday January 13 - Manchester, UK - O2 Ritz Manchester

Monday January 15 - Dublin, Ireland - Olympia Theatre
