Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen has topped the UK’s Official Streaming Chart for the second week running with Call Me Maybe.
The Official Streaming Chart, which was launched last week, is compiled on behalf of the UK music industry by the Official Charts Company and is based on data from services such as Spotify, Deezer, We7 and Napster, shows not what people are traditionally purchasing, but what the nation is actually listening to via on demand streaming services across the UK.
Fun FT Janelle Monae’s We Are Young, which yesterday missed out on topping the Official Singles Chart to Rita Ora FT Tinie Tempah’s RIP, are this week’s Number 2. Alex Clare’s Too Close is up one place to Number 3, while Gotye FT Kimbra’s Somebody That I Used To Know, slips one place to Number 4. US rockers Train complete this week’s Top 5 with Drive By, up one place to Number 5.
New entries and high climbers
There are five new entries in this week’s Official Streaming Chart Top 100. Far East Movement FT Justin Bieber debut at Number 46 with Live My Life, while Ben Howard enters at Number 72 with The Fear. Howard’s Diamonds is also a new entry at Number 89, while Emelie Sande’s My Kind Of Love (Number 85) and Labrinth’s Express Yourself, which was performed live on the semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent earlier this month, debuts at Number 96.
This week’s highest climber is Rita Ora and Tinie Tempah’s RIP, which climbs 35 places from Number 44 to this week’s Number 9. Ben Howard’s Only Love is up 27 places from 54 to Number 27, while Rihanna’s Where Have You Been climbs 26 places to Number 31. Ben Howard’s The Wolves and Old Pine are both up 14 places to Numbers 33 and 41, respectively.
