Ben Haenow teams up with Kelly Clarkson for new single Second Hand Heart
Ben Haenow is pulling out all the stops for his post-X Factor winner's single.
The singer, who was crowned champion of last year's X Factor series, has teamed up with Kelly Clarkson for his brand new track, called Second Hand Heart.
The track is released on October 9 and trails the release of his debut album, which follows on November 13 via Syco Music.
"The idea of a feature wasn’t on the cards at first but when I heard the vocals on it I was blown away as it gave the song a whole new dimension," Ben said of the track. "Especially having Kelly Clarkson too. It’s incredible. Her voice is insane. I instantly knew this was the first single."
And Kelly is just as excited about the release. "I fell in love with Second Hand Heart with the first listen!" she said. "Lyrically and musically, it is right up my alley. I am excited and honoured to be a part of Ben's first single from his first album!"
Ben has spent the last year working on his album in London and Los Angeles with a host of songwriters; including Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran), JR Rotem (Rihanna, Maroon 5), Julian Bunetta (One Direction) and Steve Robson (Take That, Olly Murs).
"I didn’t want to do an entire album where I was just taking songs from other people," Ben explained. "I wanted to be in control too and have an influence so it was a record I was 100% proud and happy putting out."
Last year Ben topped the Official Singles Chart as was crowned the Official Christmas Number 1 with his X Factor winner's single Something I Need, which went on to become one of the fastest selling singles of that year.
