NICK HARPER

Who is Nick Harper?

Nick Harper is an English singer-songwriter born on 22 June 1965.

Born into music and the son of iconic folk troubadour Roy Harper, Nick grew up surrounded by legends of the 1960s and ’70s counterculture. But from the moment he picked up a guitar at age ten, it was clear he would chart his own course. His playing is instantly recognizable: percussive, melodic, and alive with invention. He bends, taps, slaps, and detunes the instrument into new dimensions, creating full-band textures from a single acoustic guitar.

Since releasing his debut Seed in 1995, Nick has built a remarkable body of work across more than a dozen albums. His songs move effortlessly between intimate storytelling and widescreen commentary, from the lyrical optimism of Miracles for Beginners to the philosophical depth of Phantastes and the bold sonic landscapes of Earth Day Blue (2024), recorded live at Abbey Road Studio 2 with producer John Leckie and mixer Tchad Blake.
