Who is Joe Webb?
Joe Webb is a Welsh-born pianist whose music bridges the elegance of jazz tradition with the raw edge of modern British culture. Raised on stride piano and gospel-tinged harmonies before carving his path in London, he has built a reputation as both a virtuoso and a boundary-pusher, turning the piano into a space where Duke Ellington might brush shoulders with Oasis. With his trio and solo projects, Webb has released adventurous works like Hamstrings & Hurricanes, Collblanc, and SET, each revealing a restless creativity that treats jazz not as a museum piece but as a living, breathing art form.
In September 2025 it was announced that Joe Webb's album Hamstrings & Hurricaines was nominated for the Mercury Prize Album of the Year 2025.
